What is Club1 Hotels and why should I care?

Hotel rooms at wholesale prices.

Club1 Hotels is a membership site which sells discounted hotel rooms. The idea is that you get wholesale hotel rates, and Club1 makes money on membership fees.

Note that because these are wholesale rates you will not earn any hotel points or elite stay credit, but if you don’t care about loyalty or intend to stay at an uberluxe property that doesn’t really have much in the way of a loyalty program (eg Banyan Tree/ Four Seasons) then you might want to read on.

I picked up on View from the Wing that Club1 Hotels is currently offering a free one year membership (that usually retails at US$675(!)) which allows you to access all their member-only rates. This offer is available till 31 October this month

I’m obsessed with Koh Samui, so I plugged in some dummy dates to see what the system turned up.

The Conrad Koh Samui prices at US$538.49 all in on Club1.

The best publicly available rates are S$1134 (US$813) all in.

Similarly, the Four Seasons Koh Samui prices at US$608, all in.

Whereas the publicly available rates are S$1377 (US$988) all in.

That said, I think the deals are better for high end properties. When I tried searching low end, the Sheraton Samui priced at US$185 all in.

Whereas it was publicly available for S$193 (US$138) all in.

Here are some caveats

  • I have never personally booked with them before. So I can’t talk about customer service
  • The amazing rates they’re offering makes me wonder if this falls into the “too good to be true” category and I can’t blame you if you’re a bit suspicious
  • Each rate has its own cancellation terms and generally I’ve not seen them to differ from the official site. If the reservation is prepaid I’d want to be sure I get an official confirmation fro the hotel and not just the Club1

Also note that if you were to buy Club1 membership at the US$675 retail price you’d get a complimentary Priority Pass for lounge access, but the free offer does not have this.

In any case, it’s free to sign up so what do you have to lose? Feel free to play around with this and let me know if you see any other great deals.

woooo

shame on you for promoting this site. you get kickbacks from a scam site.

for the gullible people: you should click all the way through for a booking. youll see that it cost about the same from expedia or other sites.

totatlly fake site. be careful, the site is badly done up and not professionally done at all. they want to get your passwords and emails to access your real accounts and empty out all the points.

Hi Aaron – club1 hotels doing some good promos at the moment – 25% off e-gift cards + 15% discount. Is this worth exploring?
