Shopback announces November travel sale calendar, up to 10% cashback on hotels

Earn bonus cashback on hotels during November.

Shopback has just informed me of their November sales schedule. Expect some big deals this month with both Singles Day and Cyber Monday on the horizon.

Here’s an overview of the travel specific deals. Hopefully by knowing the schedule you’ll be able to better time your flight and hotel bookings to maximize your cashback.

  • Expedia Hotels 10% Epic Cashback + Bangkok Hotel Giveaway (was 6%). 11-12 Nov. Book by 12 Nov, travel by 28 Feb 2018.
  • Booking.com 9% Epic Cashback (was 6%). 9 Nov, 10am – 12 Nov, 10am.
  • Hotels.com 8% Upsized Cashback (was 6%). 13 Nov, 4pm – 16 Nov, 4pm.
  • Accorhotels Up to 10% Upsized Cashback (was <4%). 8 Nov, 4pm – 14 Nov, 4pm.
  • Expedia Packages 3% (was 2.5%). 9-10 Nov. Book by 12 Nov, travel by 28 Feb 2018.
  • IHG up to 30% off + 9% upsized Cashack (was 5%). 6 Nov, 4pm – 13 Nov, 4pm.

Remember that third party bookings made through Expedia/Booking.com/Hotels.com etc will not be eligible to earn elite status credit and points with the hotel chain itself. However, if you believe you don’t travel enough to earn elite status anyway, this shouldn’t be an issue. Moreover, if you book through on the hotel’s official site, you’ll still be eligible for elite status and points notwithstanding the fact you clicked through via Shopback (eg Accorhotels, IHG).

A reminder that if you’re not already a Shopback member you can sign up using my referral link to get a $5 bonus on your first payout (I earn $5 too).

Don’t bother with using Shopback for your travel deals, especially since most of the sites have their own special promo codes for discounts already, and their discounts are all upfront and higher during the 11.11 sale period. I tried out with Shopback for some of my previous hotel bookings in August this year, and up till now they haven’t credited the cashback despite chasing them and it being overdue by more than a month already. Perhaps others could share their successes with Shopback for travel, then YMMV. They’re good with retail purchases, but stay clear of them for any travel… Read more »

Share my success for ShopBack? I’m with you – NO success!

I use them for booking thru 3rd party sites like Expedia etc for hotels when there are no loyalty programs and it works fine! worked 4 times out of 5 but the last time that didnt work was worth the most sadly..

works very very well for retail.

I got to know about ShopBack from MileLion, and then read about them getting venture capital money, seeming quite legit. However, the experience was an utter disgrace. For all the expenses ($5k or so) I channeled through them via their chrome extension (touting 6% or more cashback), NONE of them was credited a single cashback other than 1 expense for scoot, which I had to intentionally chase and provide the digit booking number (go find read their FAQ for the details of where to find that, good luck), details of when and how I paid and the others. It seems… Read more »
