Announcing the launch of The Milelion Community Pages

A place for people to write, share and learn about miles and points.

One of the most heartening things to see as The Milelion has grown has been the eagerness of the community to get involved and share whatever they know. We see that on the comments, through the volume of chatter on the Telegram Group (a top 50 English-medium Telegram group globally, if you can believe that), the enthusiastic response to the monthly meetups and the interest in becoming a guestwriter.

We get a lot of emails from people who would like to contribute guest posts to share articles, tips, hacks and trip reports. Unfortunately, not all of them are able to keep up with the writing demands of a regular contributor (~1-2 posts a week). That said, it seems silly to give up an opportunity to tap such knowledge, which is why we’ve started The Milelion Community Pages.

With this change, our guest contributor community will be split into two flavors

  1. Guestwriters, who publish regular contributions to the site
  2. The Milelion Community, a lower commitment platform where people can submit posts as a one-time contribution without the pressure of having to contribute regularly

There’s no fixed agenda for what to cover on the Milelion Community Pages. Think of it as open mic night. Want to write about an obscure Eastern European frequent flyer program? Or a little known B&B in the Peruvian Andes? Or share a script that helps you automate certain repetitive tasks that award hunting requires? Here’s your platform.

If you would like to contribute a guest post to The Milelion, you can reach out to [email protected] with details of what you have in mind. We can’t guarantee to publish all submissions, but we do appreciate the time you take to write and promise to read each one.

(edit: having some temporary issues with [email protected]; please send to [email protected] in the interim!)

Keep sharing!
