KrisFlyer cobrand AMEX cards offering 12,000 bonus miles with $10,000 single transaction

Spend before 31 August 2018.

The KrisFlyer cobrand cards don’t have the best miles earning rates of all the cards out there, but their sign up bonuses and one-off promos continue to be ahead of the pack.

KrisFlyer cobrand cardholders will have received a mail this week about a special promotion offering 12,000 KrisFlyer miles with a charge of at least S$10,000 (or its foreign currency equivalent) in a single transaction. The spending must be done by 31 August 2018 to qualify.

I imagine if I were charging S$10,000 in a single transaction, I’d be looking for any and all means to pay with Apple Pay and Citibank Rewards/Citibank Prestige. But if that weren’t possible (eg if I were buying a watch or piece of jewelry), then this isn’t a bad deal either.

This is a targeted promo, so if you didn’t get the mailer you may not be eligible. Always best to check this with customer service (AMEX, when all is said and done, has hands down the best customer service of any credit card issuer in Singapore) if in doubt.

Not only for cobranded cards. Applicable to all Amex cards.

Dear Aaron,
Based on the information you provided.
If I sign up for the American Express KrisFlyer Ascend, and have my first transaction at exactly $10,000.
I will get 5000miles (first use) + 13,000miles (first $5k) + 13,000miles(2nd $5k) + 12,000 miles(base miles) + 12,000miles($10k single transaction promo) = 55,000 miles (5.5 miles/$)???

sian

wat exactly is the point of sharing these targeted offers? not like we can act on them.

There are many many pages in any newspaper print.. many articles and many advertisements.. some articles (and ads) would be of interest to you, but not all are.. they’re there tho…..

Potentially for those that did receive them then.

I wish I had a need to do $10,000 worth of dining entertainment this month.. cos then I’d surely do it at Crystal Jade, even if it isn’t my fav Chinese restaurant at all.. cos via current Mileslife promo, $10,000 gets you 40,000 miles, using it up in July gets you 80,000 miles, and paying for that top-up should yield another 40,000 miles..? That’s almost 2x Return Biz Class to Europe! Works out to either getting 2x Return Biz Class to Europe for spending $10,000 at Crystal Jade, or getting $10,000 worth of meals at Crystal Jade for buying 2x… Read more »

Agreed re customer service. They really put in the effort.

[…] The AMEX KrisFlyer cobrand cards don’t have the highest miles earning rates out there (1.1/1.2 mpd local, 2.0 mpd overseas in June/Dec), but they have big sign up bonuses and should still be part of your plans if you’re new to the miles game. Every once in a while, they throw up some nice bonuses too. […]
