Kaligo 11/11 sale: double miles and points on all hotel bookings

Get double the miles or points during Kaligo's 11/11 sale, but be sure to comparison shop.

Kaligo has launched their 11/11 sale, which runs from now till 2359 on 11 November 2019. Under this sale, all hotel bookings for stays until 31 May 2020 will earn double miles or points. The T&C states that this applies to all rewards programs except bank credit card loyalty programs and Uber (not that it applies to those of us in Singapore)

If this is your first Kaligo booking, signing up through the link below gives you an extra 1,000 miles on your first completed stay.

Be sure to search through the 11/11 landing page to enjoy the double miles or points. Going via the regular Kaligo.com website does not display the bonus!

The number of miles you earn depends on the property and loyalty program you choose. As the Peninsula Bangkok example below shows, even the same rate can yield different miles totals, so pick your loyalty program carefully. There’s not much technique to this; you’ll basically have to trial and error your way until you find something that suits you.

Remember that you can earn miles and points with up to 40 different rewards programs on Kaligo, so this may be a chance to pick up “exotic” points currencies that aren’t normally available in Singapore.

You shoul also be aware that Kaligo prices can be (but not always are) higher than other OTAs. Therefore, it’s a good idea to comparison shop before booking- if the Kaligo price is higher, you’ll need to work out whether the incremental miles are worth it because you’re essentially buying miles.

I personally wouldn’t pay more than 1.8 cents per KrisFlyer mile, but everyone’s valuation will differ.

Conclusion

Play around with the dates and see what mpd rates you can turn up, because this may be a good opportunity to pick up miles for less. Always be sure to check the rates on Kaligo versus other OTAs, and remember that bookings through any 3rd party channel (Kaligo or otherwise) are not eligible to earn hotel points or elite status credit.
