Hyatt Bonus Journeys promo: Earn 2X points on all stays

Earn 2X points on all Hyatt stays starting from the second stay, capped at 100,000 bonus points.

World of Hyatt has just launched their first promotion for 2020, called Bonus Journeys. This applies to stays with checkout dates from 15 Feb-15 May 2020, and registration must be done by 31 Mar 2020.

2X points from second stay, capped at 100,000 bonus points

Under this promotion, World of Hyatt members will earn 2X points on stays starting from their second qualifying stay. A maximum of 100,000 bonus points can be earned.

The landing page for the promotion mentions an offer for a further 1,500 bonus points per stay, but that only applies to World of Hyatt credit cardmembers (i.e not us).

It’s fine if your stay was booked before the promotion period started; all that matters is the date of your checkout. So long as you’re registered and checkout from 15 Feb-15 May 2020, you’ll get the bonus.

This promotion is based on stays, not nights. If you stay two consecutive nights at the same hotel, it only counts as one stay. Bonus points will post in 2-3 weeks after your qualifying stay.

As a reminder, World of Hyatt members earn 5 base points per US$1 spent on the room rate. 2X points means earning a bonus 5 base points, in addition to the elite tier bonuses you normally earn anyway.

Upcoming changes to World of Hyatt program

Naman Retreat, Small Luxury Hotels of the World

In December last year, World of Hyatt announced some changes to their program that take effect from March 2020.

The biggest change is the addition of peak/off-peak pricing, which means it’s advisable to use any points earned during this promo to lock in pricing at properties which are going to increase in price.

Here’s what the peak/off-peak award chart will look like.

Conclusion

Regardless of whether you have any stays planned at Hyatt properties, it’s worth taking 30 seconds to register your account anyway.

If you need to top up your World of Hyatt account, remember that there’s currently an ongoing points sale with 25% off purchases. This yields an equivalent price of 1.8 US cents per point, and is available till 1 March 2020.
