Marriott has launched a new promotion called “Indulgence Awaits”, where guests can score discounted rates and get bonus resort credits when they book prepaid stays by 15 June 2020.
Stays booked under this promotion can be made up to 31 May 2021– let’s hope the world’s a saner place by then.
Which Marriott resorts are on offer?
There’s a total of seven properties on sale- five in Bali and two in Jakarta. I’m just going to focus on the ones in Bali, since I imagine that’ll be of more interest.
All rates are for two adults, and book into the base category room (except the Mandapa, which comes with a guaranteed upgrade to a one-bedroom pool villa.

All these rates are non-refundable if cancelled more than 24 hours after booking. However, Marriott’s blanket Covid-19 policy states the following:
For guests making new reservations for any future arrival date, including reservations with pre-paid rates, between today and June 30, 2020, we will allow the reservation to be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival date.* Please note that changes to the reservation will be subject to availability and any rate differences.
In other words, if you book before 30 June 2020, you should be able to get a refund when you cancel up to 24 hours before arrival, even if you booked a prepaid rate. That’s my own interpretation of the rule at least; if you’re nervous, contact the hotel and check.
In any case, the St Regis Bali and Laguna Nusa Dua Bali give you the option of buying a stay voucher, which allows you to lock in the rate first, before deciding when you want to stay later. You’ll need to purchase the voucher by 15 June 2020, and can do so by emailing the hotel (see below for details).
I’ve eyeballed the regular rates and would say that most of these represent pretty decent deals, especially when you factor in the resort credit. This can be used for F&B, spa treatments, airport transfers or special experiences at the hotel.

Conclusion
If you’re looking forward to a trip to Bali, these rates could give you some savings on top of what you’d normally find.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to stack these with the 20% off Marriott gift cards you may have purchased recently- those are only valid for payments made at the hotel itself, and these rates require prepayment. That said, you can of course bring the cards along with you and use them to pay for other charges at check-out.
