50% off Singapore Airlines award tickets to Bali is a pretty amazing deal

7,500 miles/ 17,500 miles for round trip economy/business class tickets to Bali, ticket by 28 Feb, travel between 1-31 March

Just over a week ago, Singapore Airlines announced its list of Spontaneous Escape discounted award tickets for travel in March.

The original list did not include Denpasar (Bali), but a second email went out yesterday:

I didn’t receive the mail so I thought at first that this was a targeted offer, but I’ve checked and I’m able to access the deal too. This is valid for bookings done by 28 February 2018 for travel between 1-31 March 2018. Changes and cancellations of award tickets redeemed under this promotion are not possible, as per the T&C.

This only applies to flights on SQ946/948 (outbound) and SQ939/949/MI175 (inbound)

Remember- your award needs to be ticketed by 28 February to enjoy this discount. If you’re waitlisted and your award clears after 28 February, you will not get the discount notwithstanding the fact that you added yourself to the waitlist before 28 February and are travelling between 1-31 March.

Singapore Airlines regional business class, the type they operate to Bali

7,500 and 17,500 miles plus some taxes for economy and business class respectively to Bali is a fantastic deal. Yes, there are a lot of budget carriers plying the route, and yes, SQ operates its regional business class product to Bali, and yes, it’s only a 2.5 hour flight, but all that said, this is totally a deal I’d jump on if I had the time to go to Bali in March.

The reason for the generous discount is because no one is flying there as long as governments’ travel advisories on Mount Agung’s drawn-out eruption remain in place. It’s caveat emptor if one chooses to go there- travel insurance is not going to cover any travel disruptions or worse, injuries or loss of life due to the volcanic event.

Has anyone had any luck in changing a ticket redeemed on promotion?
