Earn 8X Krisflyer miles when you rent with Avis in April

Krisflyer has tie ups with numerous car rental companies which allow you to earn miles when you rent cars.  With most of the major agencies it’s 500 miles per rental, although “rental sellers” (sites that don’t rent cars per se, but book with an agency that does) like Rentalcars.com award miles based on spend at a rate of 1.5 miles per US$1.

For a limited time, you can earn 8X the normal miles when you book with Avis. Simply book before 31 March 2018 and start your rental by 30 April 2018 (your return can happen after this date and you’ll still be eligible) at any participating location worldwide.

What’s a participating location, you ask? Fortunately, Avis hasn’t broken down eligibility into individual locations but rather countries. And pretty much every country you can think of is on the participating list. Sorry if you wanted to rent a car in Uganda, but otherwise you’ll be fine. The full T&C can be found here.

An important thing to note- if you want to get the 8X miles bonus you must make a reservation using a Krisflyer-affiliated AWD code. Here are the Krisflyer discount codes you can use for Avis rentals.

In my experience, it doesn’t matter which code you use, because all the codes give me the same rate. And I’ve never had anyone ask me to show my membership card when picking up a booking, for what it’s worth.

If you’re able to find a cheap rental with Avis, this is a good way of sweetening the deal with 4,000 miles. I’d still shop around based on price though.
