Emirates global fare sale: fares to 69 cities start from S$448 RT

Book by 21 January 2019, travel by 15 November 2019.

Emirates is kicking off the New Year with a fare sale which runs from now until 21 January 2019. Fares must be booked directly on the Emirates website and the travel period for flights booked in this sale is from now until 15 November 2019.

Round-trip Economy Class fares begin at S$448, Business from S$2,198

In this sale, fares to 69 destinations with Emirates start from just S$448 round-trip in Economy Class. Fares to Australia begin at S$448, Middle East from S$618, Europe from S$888 and North America from S$1,388.

In addition, Business Class fares are also on offer from now until 21 January 2019 with return Business Class fares to Australia starting from S$2,198.

Here’s a short list of the fares that are available for booking:

Round-trip fares to Oslo from S$888 are pretty good and fares to London Stansted and Gatwick both start from S$1,008 too which is excellent in my opinion. If you’re headed to North America, fares to New York (Newark) start from S$1,398.

Always input dates to obtain an accurate fare quote

Although the website states that fares start from S$1,008 to London Gatwick, the actual fare which prices out after selecting your dates actually comes out to around S$970 which is much cheaper than the advertised fare of S$1,008. So do select the actual dates of your travel to confirm the actual fare that you will be paying.

Emirates fleet consists primarily of Airbus A380s and Boeing 777-300ERs which feature Economy Class laid out in a 3-4-3 configuration. If you have a choice, I will suggest choosing the flight that is operated with the Airbus A380 as the Economy Class seats are a little wider than those on the Boeing 777-300ERs.

Where do I credit these flights?

Emirates Skywards frequent flyer program is concurrently having a promotion which sees all members earning double miles if you book your tickets by 21 January 2019. However, redemptions in the Skywards program are rather confusing and awards are rather expensive.

What I will suggest, is to credit these flights either to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program or to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. Note that you will not earn any status credits when crediting your Emirates flights to Qantas.

Crediting these flights to Alaska Mileage Plan might be your best solution as Alaska Airlines miles come in particularly handy for flights to Japan on JAL.
