Which bank branches will still be open during the circuit breaker?

Banking services will continue to be available during the ongoing circuit breaker (7 April to 1 June), but some banks will be closing selected branches.

ATMs will continue to operate as per normal, as will insurance, broking, custody, asset management, and financial advisory services. Do remember that the vast majority of transactions can be done online, and it’s worth giving it a shot before heading down to a physical branch.

Needless to say, customer service phone lines and online chat will likely experience longer than usual wait times during this period. It’s certainly not the time to go line by line with the CSO to reconcile your credit card points!

Here’s a list of which bank branches will be closed, and which will continue to operate.

Bank of China

Bank of China will be closing six branches during this period, while continuing to operate seven.

ATM services will continue to be available across all branches.

Citibank

Citibank is closing four branches (as well as all instant banking centres) during this period, while continuing to operate four.

Operating hours will be shortened at the following branches:

• Jurong East and Capital Square Branches
  • Mondays to Fridays 9:30am to 3:30pm
  • Closed on Saturdays and Sundays
• Parkway Parade Branch
  • Mondays to Fridays 9:30am to 3:30pm
  • Saturdays 9:30am to 12pm and closed on Sundays
• Paragon Branch
  • Mondays to Fridays 9:30am to 3:30pm
  • Level 1 to open on Saturdays 9:30am to 12pm and closed on Sundays
  • Level 6 closed on Saturdays and Sundays

Vulnerable groups such as the elderly and pregnant will have 9.30 am to 10.30 am reserved for them to carry out transactions.

DBS

DBS is closing 29 branches during this period, while continuing to operate 28.

The following banking channels remain accessible to DBS customers:

• 22 digital lobbies remain open for round-the clock self-servicing banking.
• 55 Video Teller Machines with support from customer service officers available during banking hours.
• Cashpoints available at Cold Storage, Giant, 7-Eleven and more.
• 1,100 ATMs and 150 BTMs available for cash withdrawals and deposits.

HSBC

HSBC is closing nine branches during this period, while continuing to operate six.

During this period, HSBC’s operational branches (except for Raffles Place branch) will continue to serve HSBC corporate banking customers. All stand-alone ATMs, including those in closed branches will operate as normal for cash requirements. Quick Cheque facilities will only be available at open branches.

ICBC

ICBC will be closing five branches during this period, while continuing to operate four.

ATM services are not affected and will continue to be fully operational.

Maybank

Maybank is closing eight branches during this period, while continuing to operate nine.

All self-service banking facilities and cheque deposit services across Maybank Singapore’s network, including the atm⁵ network, will remain open.

Cash transactions, cheque deposit services and payment services including remittance will be available at the remaining nine branches. Individual account opening and application for the Maybank COVID-19 Relief Package for unsecured credit facilities, home loans, SMEs and Etiqa Insurance will only be available online during this period.

OCBC

OCBC is closing 22 branches during this period, while continuing to operate 24.

OCBC’s shared ATM network with UOB, comprising over 1,200 ATMs across the island, as well as digital banking services continue to be available.

OCBC’s Next Generation ATMs, which are able to function as “mini branches”, are also available at 23 locations. They can perform 80 per cent of the most-frequently requested over-the-counter services such as cash deposits, cash withdrawals above the daily limits, updating customers’ personal details as well as account- and card-related requests. OCBC Cash cheques can also be instantly encashed at these ATMs.

Standard Chartered

SCB is closing eight branches during this period, while continuing to operate eight.

All ATMs, including those at temporarily closed branches, will remain available for cash services and withdrawals. Customers can continue to bank and carry out selected banking services via Online Banking or SC Mobile App. These self-banking services include opening of accounts, updating personal information, application of credit cards or personal loans, raising service requests, and checking of balances and transactions.

UOB

UOB is closing 24 branches during this period, while continuing to operate 38.
