Back in August, Kris+ launched a Weekly Miles Giveaway campaign, which was basically a lottery with 364,000 KrisPay miles to be won.
The campaign has been brought back again for October, and this time the prize pool has been doubled to 728,000 miles, given away across four weeks. These miles can either be spent via the Kris+ app, or transferred to KrisFlyer for award flight redemptions.
Members can redeem as many tickets as they wish for 100 KrisPay miles each, and while I’m not one to advocate gambling with your miles, it could be a way of burning any orphan balances you have.

Kris+ Birthday Miles Giveaway
The Kris+ Birthday Miles Giveaway runs from 1-28 October 2024, with two prizes to be won each week.
Round | Qualifying Period | Prize |
1 | 1 Oct 24 (1000 hrs) to 7 Oct 24 (2359 hrs) | 34,000 KrisPay miles 2x winners |
2 | 8 Oct 24 (1000 hrs) to 14 Oct 24 (2359 hrs) | 108,000 KrisPay miles 2x winners |
3 | 15 Oct 24 (1000 hrs) to 21 Oct 24 (2359 hrs) | 54,000 KrisPay miles 2x winners |
4 | 22 Oct 24 (1000 hrs) to 28 Oct 24 (2359 hrs) | 168,000 KrisPay miles 2x winners |
Over the course of four weeks, a total of 728,000 KrisPay miles will be given away. This is worth S$4,854 if spent via the Kris+ app, but hopefully the winner(s) won’t actually do that! Prizes can be converted into KrisFlyer miles, provided you:
- Convert the entirety of the prize
- Do so within 21 days of the prize being credited
For perspective:
- Round 1’s prize is enough for a return Economy Class flight to Hong Kong or Taiwan
- Round 2’s prize is enough for a return Business Class flight to Japan or South Korea
- Round 3’s prize is enough for a return Economy Class flight to Japan or South Korea
- Round 4’s prize is enough for a pair of return Business Class flights to Perth or Darwin
How to participate
To participate, you must be at least 18 years old as of 1 October 2024, and a Singapore resident.
Members can participate by purchasing a ticket for 100 KrisPay miles. Each ticket gives you one chance to win, and there is no cap on the number of tickets you can purchase.
Your ticket is only valid for the current round, however, so if you buy a ticket in Round 1 and don’t win, your ticket is not valid for Round 2.
Winners will be notified within seven calendar days from the end of each round.

Should you participate?
It all boils down to whether you’re feeling lucky.
I suppose that if you had a small balance stuck in Kris+, and no intention of accumulating more miles, then buying a lottery ticket would allow you to cash it out. Kris+ normally requires a minimum spend of at least 150 KrisPay miles, after all.
As for your chances, it’s anyone’s guess. The obvious goal of this campaign is that the number of miles burned on tickets should be higher than the number of miles paid out, so Kris+ will obviously be trying to sell more than 7,280 tickets.
Just for perspective, your odds of:
- Finding a pearl in an oyster: 1 in 12,000
- Getting struck by lightning: 1 in 15,300
- Being attacked by a shark: 1 in 3.7 million
- Being killed by a vending machine: 1 in 112 million
Conclusion
Kris+ has brought back its lotteryesque Miles Giveaway campaign, with a prize pool of 728,000 miles up for grabs this time round.
I personally wouldn’t bother redeeming miles for this, but if you have an orphan balance that will otherwise expire unused, then a shot at some value is better than no value at all.
I actually didnt know that you could be killed by a vending machine
your chances of being killed by a vending machine are low but never zero.
I weigh at least 3 times that of a human, say if I lose my balance and fall down onto one….
Attack of the killer vending machine โฆ. Haha

is this legal? I remembered news said blind box vending machine is considered gambling and is not legal. The very nature of โbuy the ticketโ and got chance of winning something tangible itself isnโt that lottery?
I was in recent sia event and spoke to a Kris plus staff. She mentioned they complied to gaming rules and even have a police registration for this purpose and are audited on this so I guess it very legit or they ticked all the legal clauses.
My question to her was who was the winners or at least some details like how many tickets they redeem to win to offer some level of transparency
