World of Hyatt and Small Luxury Hotels of the World announce partnership

World of Hyatt members can expect to receive stay credit for nights at SLH properties with future benefits to be announced.

World of Hyatt has just announced that it has formed a partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World and members of both loyalty programs can expect to enjoy benefits when staying at both hotel chains. The full details of this new partnership hasn’t been released yet, but World of Hyatt and SLH are targeting a launch for the partnership by end of 2018.

For those who are unaware, Small Luxury Hotels of the World is a relatively small hotel loyalty program which partners with independent luxury hotels around the world. They have quite a number of properties which are simply breathtaking – especially in Europe. In Singapore, SLH partners with these hotels:

  • Naumi
  • The Scarlet Singapore

This new partnership between World of Hyatt and SLH is great news as Hyatt has one of the smallest portfolios of all the major hotel chains. In Singapore, there only exist 2 Hyatt properties. Compare this with Hilton, Marriott and IHG which have more than 3 hotels each in Singapore alone.ย

Earn elite qualifying nights for stays at SLH hotels for WOH members

Similar to what Starwood (now Marriott) has with their partnership with Design Hotels, World of Hyatt members will be able to earn elite qualifying nights when staying at SLH properties and will soon be able to redeem World of Hyatt points for stays at SLH properties when the full details of the partnership areย announced.

The ability to earn elite qualifying nights at SLH properties is excellent as Hyatt hotels are harder to come by than Hilton, Marriott or even Accor properties and this would make it easier for members to qualify for elite status when staying at a region without a Hyatt hotel but does haveย an SLH hotel.

What we are unsure of is how this will work out for SLH members. SLH has three tiers in its loyalty program and upon enrollment, you will already be able to enjoy benefits such as complimentary continental breakfast for 2 as well as early check-in and late checkout. It would, of course, be splendid if these benefits will be honoured at Hyatt properties under the partnership but I highly doubt so given that in the World of Hyatt program, only Globalists, which is the highest tier in the World of Hyatt program, receives complimentary breakfast. Hyatt has said that they will make known of how SLH members fit into this partnership in the coming months.

I really like the INVITED program as just byย signing up, you will receive continental breakfast for two as well as early check-in and late check-out when staying at SLH properties. Sadly the perks don’t really improve as you progress up their elite tiers.

Invited Member Perks

Hyatt has not announced if World of Hyatt elite members will be receiving the full suite of benefits which their elite status normally confers for stays at SLH properties but I would like to think that Globalist members will still be receiving their complimentary breakfast benefit.

Concluding Thoughts

While we have to wait until the end of the year to find out the full details of this new partnership, this is certainly great news for both SLH and World of Hyatt elite members as they will be able to enjoy their elite benefits at more properties around the world. If you’re looking for a staycation in Singapore, do give SLH a look and remember to sign up as a member of INVITED to start receiving benefits from your first stay.

Doesn’t Hilton only have 3 properties in Singapore? With your line of reasoning then Hyatt isn’t that small with 2 hotels.
