On Saturday 6 October, we’ll be hosting our first-ever doubleheader session comprising of Advanced KrisFlyer and Power Award Searching. These two modules dovetail nicely into each other, as the Milelion World Domination chart below shows:
The workshop will be held at the Cavenagh Room in the Four Points by Sheraton Riverview,ย with Advanced KrisFlyer starting at 9 a.m, followed by Power Award Searching at 11.15 a.m. Participants can attend one or both workshops as they require.
If you’re interested in this workshop but can’t make it this time round, or if there are other workshops you’d like to attend, do indicate your interest here.
Hereโs what weโll be covering during this session:
9am: Advanced KrisFlyer
Round the World Awards
Round the World Awards are arguably one of the most aspirational airline awards to redeem. Imagine flying around the world, city hopping and trying different cabin products, all while saving a huge chunk of miles.
Thatโs in theory, at least. Planning, finding and booking a Round the World Award is easier said than done. During Advanced KrisFlyer, weโll go through the rules in agonizing detail, and illustrate how you can use this award to plan a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
Partner Awards
You may already know that youย canย redeem your KrisFlyer miles for more than just Singapore Airlines flights, but do you know what flights youย shouldย be redeeming your miles for?
We do touch-and-go coverage of partner awards during the Miles for Beginners session, but during Advanced KrisFlyer weโll really deep dive into all of KrisFlyerโs partner award charts to find the hidden gems. Weโll show you which chart to use when youโre heading where, and how to plan, find and book these partner awards.
Stopovers
Everyoneโs probably heard of stopovers, but do you know how to use them to stretch your miles? Stopovers are one of the best kept secrets of award tickets.ย During this session, weโll learn how to strategise with stopovers andย turn a single city vacation into a multi-city jaunt, or even turn one vacation into two with careful planning.
Mixed cabin itineraries, award holds, faster KrisFlyer searchingโฆ
Those who have attended Milelion workshops before will know just how much I love to pack these things. In addition to the above, weโll be sure toย discuss mixed cabin itineraries, award holds and searching for KrisFlyer awards faster too!
11.15am Power Award Searching
If you read Flyertalk or Boardingarea or SQTalk, youโve no doubt come across names like ExpertFlyer, Award Nexus and KVS. These can be very powerful tools for planning your perfect award trip, but they come with steep learning curves and can be intimidating for first timers.
The purpose of this module is to:
- Explain the need for dedicated award search tools
- Help you understand the different award search engines and the pros and cons of each
- Provide a hands-on demonstration and deep dive into the features and usage of tools like KVS, Award Nexus, Award.Flights and ExpertFlyer
- Illustrate use-cases for each of the tools and how you can integrate them into your trip planning
- Teach you how to set up automated award searches, filter-driven searches, seat alerts, manually construct awards, and much more
Look forward to seeing you there!
Good sharing for those new in the game like me, but 1 suggestion for your attention. During last session@ The commons, someone close the door during the break while i was outside to get some stuffs and i was locked outside with no way to re-enter. There was no number to call for help nor someone to go to for help for the door opening. Luckily, after waiting for 5 mins, the singsaver came out otherwise i can’t get back in. Not too pleasant or convenient for an event. If you do planned for future sessions in such similar setup… Read more »
Thanks walter, will definitely look into this.
