A very blessed Christmas to each and every Milelion reader! Your continued readership and support means the world to us, and getting to know more of you through our meetups and events has been one of the highlights of the year.
Whether you’re serving today at church, spending time with family and loved ones, or passed out on the couch from too much turkey, I hope you’ve had a great 2018. Here’s a sneak preview of some of the things to look forward to in 2019:
- Special guests at the Monthly Milelion Meetups:ย I thought it’d be fun to change things up a bit at our monthly drinks meetups by inviting a special guest each month. This month we had Mark from The Shutterwhaleย joining us. In January, we’ll be joined by the Head of GrabRewards, and I’m looking to get more guests from AMEX, Mileslife, SingSaver and other miles and points players in the months to come. This will be a great chance to ask tough questions, hear things from a different perspective and maybe get some insider info, depending on how drunk we can get them.
- More airline and hotel reviews:ย 2019 will be a year full of honeymoon-fueled miles and points travel, so look out for reviews of Singapore Airlines’ new Regional Business Class on the 787-10, the Banyan Tree Ungasan, the St Regis Bali, British Airways’ Concorde Room and First Class experience, the St Regis Florence, the Post Ranch Inn, Singapore Airlines’ non-stop ULR flights to SFO and LAX and much, much more!
- More social spaces: Earlier this month I startedย quietly testing a new forum called Milelion Answers. The idea was to create a more organized discussion space for those who dislike the unstructured nature of the Telegram Group. Milelion Answers is still in beta testing, but you’re welcome to register for an account and start posting! Will there be shameless gimmicks to build traction on Milelion Answers? What an interesting, interesting question…
- A faster, more responsive website: As readership grows, so too do the demands on our hosting. I’m of the opinion that we’re about to outgrow our current Hostgator plan, and am making preparations to shift to Siteground. You may notice a bit of weirdness over the next few days, but I don’t expect any major disruptions (famous last words). The good news is that Siteground has a server in Singapore, so you can expect blazing fast loading speeds once the shift is made
A fundraiser for World Vision
If you’ve been playing the miles and points game right, you’re well on your way to experiencing some of the finer things in life- luxury hotels, first class cabins, all that good stuff.
And yet there are many out there who will never see the inside of an airplane, much less enjoy a premium cabin. The recent tsunami disaster in Indonesia reminds us that as much as we in the miles and points community may gripe about one airline’s amenities kit or another’s champagne offering,ย these complaints are utterly, utterly inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.
So this Christmas, would you consider joining me in giving a small gift to supportย the work of World Vision? World Vision is a global Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. I’ve started a fund raiser which willย run until midnight this Friday, and invite you to give whatever you can. Even a $5 donation can make a difference for someone.

Once again, a very blessed Christmas to all!
Sorry, I don’t have an ugly Christmas sweater, but this’ll have to do:
When the Milelion’s Xmas message reads way better than POTUS’ Xmas message(s)/tweet(s),
this is high praise.
Are you all alone at home (poor you)?
Oh swell… Blessed Christmas to you too, Mr. Wong
“Sorry, I donโt have an ugly Christmas sweater, but thisโll have to do…”
I am so tempted to say, “It’s all good, it’s ugly enough”… but I know better than to get myself banned from this site hehehe.
JK JK JK lah… very hamserm lah.
the milelioness made me this shirt…
Aaron, first time I am visiting your website and am impressed. I am soon returning to business travel soon as I am starting a mega tourism project in Tunisia…with plenty of travels to Europe. I will study your website. Many of my flights will be on Business Class and hence, selecting the airlines will be important.
Thanks for hosting this travel site. God bless you and have a great 2019. I live in Spore but will be away for most of 2019
thank you for your kind words! your project sounds exciting…maybe we’ll read about it in the papers soon?
