Announcing The Milelionโ€™s Monthly Miles Meetup for May

Better than group therapy.

Theย Milelionโ€™s Monthly Miles Meetup is a place for miles enthusiasts to meet, mingle, make merry, and engage in poetry slams.

I’m pleased to announce the details of the next meetup:

Date: Thursday, 30 May 2019
Venue: Lobby Lounge at Westin Singapore
Time: 7.00 pm till the creation of a Boltzmann Brain

Tickets will be available from 12 pm on Thursday, 16 May 2019.

Tickets have historically been free, but due to no-shows and late cancellations at past events, we’re going to be implementing an $8 fee per ticket from this month on. This is fully refundable if you cancel at least 7 days before the event starts. The $8 fee, less a $1.35 ticket charge by EventBrite, will be put into a central pool to order table snacks during the event- I don’t keep any of it.

This year, we’re doing something a bit different at the Monthly Milelion Meetups by inviting a different guest from the industry each month, someone who can share insights from the other side of the loyalty/hotel/airline/credit card table.ย It’s a chance to ask pressing questions, provide passive aggressive feedback and maybe get insider info, depending on how drunk we can get them.

  • January guest: Kelvin Koh, Head of Grab Rewards
  • February guest: Rohith Murthy, Founder of SingSaver
  • April guest: Leonard Tok, Product Manager for OCBC VOYAGE

This month, we’re welcoming Nicki Ramsay, CEO and Founder of CardUp.

May Meetup Guest: Nicki Ramsay, CEO and Founder, CardUp

Nicki Ramsay is CEO and Founder of CardUp, a fast-growing credit card enablement platform based in Singapore. An expert in the payments industry, she has built digital payments products and previously held various leadership roles for American Express across both Asia Pacific and Europe. She is seen as a thought leader in the fintech space, and is a regular speaker at industry events including Money20/20 and the Singapore Fintech Festival.

Conclusion

Meetups are a great opportunity to meet fellow miles enthusiasts. Come down, get a drink, and avoid eye contact the whole evening!
