Great Deal: Ritz-Carlton Millenia for S$588 nett with breakfast and S$100 F&B credit (plus bak kwa)

DBS cardholders can book an excellent staycation package at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia, with attraction tickets and bak kwa thrown in just because.

I previously wrote about a S$630 nett breakfast-inclusive rate for the Ritz-Carlton Millenia on Pelago (which earns 9 mpd to boot), but now comes an even better offer for DBS/POSB cardholders.

From now till 31 March 2021 (book by 24 March 2021), DBS/POSB cardholders can stay at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia on a S$588 nett breakfast-inclusive rate that comes with a S$100 F&B credit and a pair of Gardens by the Bay tickets.

Oh, and some bak kwa too, just because.

DBS exclusive rate at Ritz-Carlton Millenia

DBS and POSB cardholders can currently book the following package at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia for S$588 nett:

  • 1 night in a Kallang Deluxe Room (the hotel’s lead-in category)
  • Early check-in at 11 a.m and late check-out at 4 p.m (subject to availability)
  • S$100 F&B credit
  • Breakfast for two adults + two children (under 12 years old)
  • Complimentary extra bed for child below 12 years old
  • 2x tickets to Gardens by the Bay
  • S$10 Lim Chee Guan Voucher (first 50 sign-ups)

The Lim Chee Guan voucher must be the most random thing in the world, but I love that they threw it in anyway. As a further sweetener, you can book a second room for 25% off the S$588 nett rate (i.e S$441 nett).

Bookings must be made by 24 March 2021, with stays up till 31 March 2021. Blackout dates run from 30 December 2020 to 1 January 2021 (no Valentine’s Day blackout though, I’m surprised), and bookings are fully refundable up to 96 hours before check-in.

Need I reiterate that this is a sensational deal for the Ritz-Carlton Millenia? Here’s how it compares to a breakfast-included rate on the Ritz’s official site:

December 2020S$588S$718-930
January 2021S$588S$671-824
February 2021S$588S$671-906
March 2021S$588S$671-730
All rates shown are nett

Not only is the DBS rate lower by a few hundred dollars, it also has a S$100 F&B credit plus the attraction tickets.

While the booking is made through a travel agency called Tour East, you really don’t lose out on anything. That’s because the Ritz-Carlton Millenia does not participate in the Marriott Bonvoy program, with no elite night credits or points awarded even if you booked direct.

Is it worth forgoing the 9 mpd you’d earn with Pelago? Definitely, once you factor in the lower rate and additional inclusions. Besides, you’ll offset some of the mileage difference by paying with the DBS Altitude Card (it appears that payment is taken at the hotel, so unfortunately you won’t be able to earn 4 mpd with the DBS Woman’s World Card).

Conclusion

This offer is only available to DBS/POSB cardholders, but seriously, who doesn’t have one of those? If you don’t, remember that DBS is currently offer its largest-ever acquisition offer- S$300 cashback, when you apply by 10 January 2021 as a new-to-bank customer.

This rate is as good as it gets for the Ritz-Carlton Millenia, although I’m still hoping for an offer on a club-level room.
