Shangri-La Golden Circle has launched a double nights promotion, which runs from 1 May to 31 July 2021.

During this period, all qualifying stays at Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders hotels worldwide will earn double tier nights, enabling members to qualify or requalify for status faster.

No registration is required for this offer- so long as your stay dates fall between 1 May to 31 July 2021, you’ll receive double tier nights.
Qualifying stays exclude those made through third party sites (e.g OTAs), long stay rates, and GC award nights. Luxury Circle rates booked through agents like HoteLux and Classic Travel will be eligible.
Qualifying for Golden Circle Jade and Diamond usually requires 20 and 50 nights respectively in a calendar year, so you could qualify by staying 10 and 25 nights during this period. However, it’s worth noting that Jade and Diamond can also be attained with 10 and 25 stays respectively, so you’re really in no different a position had all your stays been just one night long.

Both Jade and Diamond members also enjoy enhanced rates when redeeming GC points for F&B credit. The rate is usually 10 GC points= US$1, but Jade and Diamond members enjoy 25% more value.

| Shangri-La offers two different redemption options for F&B credit. The first is a fixed value certificate of US$50/$100 for 500/1,000 points. The second is through The Table, which lets you spend points at US$1 (or US$1.25 for Jade/Diamond) per 10 points. The latter is obviously much more flexible, and offers better value to Jade/Diamond members. |
The double tier nights offer may be particularly interesting for AMEX Platinum Charge cardholders. Jade membership ceased to be a benefit of the AMEX Platinum Charge on 1 April 2021, and members already holding Jade status will need to requalify in accordance with the usual T&Cs.
My membership expires on 31 December 2021, which means I’ll need to clock nights during the current calendar year if I wish to requalify (if you only registered for the Jade benefit this year, your status should be valid till 31 December 2022).
Conclusion
This offer is worth taking note of if you have Shangri-La stays lined up in Singapore or (hopefully) Hong Kong. That said, since you could normally qualify for Jade/Diamond with 10/25 stays anyway, so someone who just does one night stays would be pretty indifferent.
