KrisFlyer adds two-way points transfers to Accor Live Limitless

KrisFlyer members can now convert miles into Accor Live Limitless points, but the ratio is so poor it's not really worth considering.

Singapore Airlines has had a longstanding partnership with hotel loyalty programme Accor Live Limitless (ALL), with members able to convert ALL points into KrisFlyer miles albeit at a very underwhelming 2:1 ratio.

That tie-up has now been deepened with the addition of transfers in the opposite direction, from KrisFlyer miles to ALL points. Unfortunately, the conversion rate here isn’t much to get excited about either, with a 9:2 ratio representing very poor value for your miles.

Barring some very limited circumstances, it’s hard to think of a situation where this would be a viable option.

Transfer KrisFlyer miles to Accor Live Limitless points

KrisFlyer miles ALL points
9 miles 2 points
Min conversion block: 4,500 KrisFlyer miles

KrisFlyer miles can now be transferred to ALL points at a 9:2 ratio, with a minimum conversion of 4,500 KrisFlyer miles. After the minimum conversion amount, subsequent transfers can be in single-mile increments.ย

Here’s the key points to note:

  • Conversions are free of charge
  • Conversions are processed instantly
  • A maximum of 180,000 KrisFlyer miles can be converted to ALL points per calendar year

Conversions from KrisFlyer to ALL can only be done between 6 a.m and 11.59 p.m Singapore time each day, presumably due to routine maintenance.ย

Is it worth it?

ALL points have a fixed value of 2,000 points = โ‚ฌ40 (~S$58), or 2.9 cents per point.

With a 9:2 transfer ratio, you are essentially cashing out your KrisFlyer miles at 0.64 cents each, which is amongst the lowest possible value you could get.

Even if you had a small number of miles that were due to expire, you could get better value spending them through KrisPay at 0.67 cents each (temporarily boosted to 0.89 cents)– not that youย should,ย mind you, but that just goes to show how poor value this is!

The best value for your miles still remains award flights, so always try to aim for that to the extent possible.

Transfer Accor Live Limitless points to KrisFlyer miles

ALL points KrisFlyer miles
2 points 1 mile
Min conversion block: 2,000 ALL points

ALL points can be transferred to KrisFlyer miles at a 2:1 ratio, with a minimum conversion of 2,000 points.ย Conversions in this direction, surprisingly, are quoted as taking up to six weeks.ย

There is no cap on the maximum number of ALL points you can convert to KrisFlyer each year, and you can even opt for automatic conversion so that every time you earn ALL points they are automatically transferred to KrisFlyer. If you opt for this, however, you should really question what you’re doing with your life.

Is it worth it?

Just like converting KrisFlyer miles to ALL points, there’s shockingly bad value to be found in the opposite direction too.ย

You’re giving up S$58 worth of hotel points for 1,000 KrisFlyer miles, so unless you value a mile at more than 5.8 cents, this is a complete non-starter.

How to transfer

It feels almost irresponsible of me to be telling people how to make conversions, but anyway…

To transfer KrisFlyer miles to ALL points, login to your account, then click on Miles > How To Use. Scroll down until you see the ALL- Accor Live Limitless option, and complete the form.ย

For transfers from ALL points to KrisFlyer miles, login to your ALL account and visit this page.ย

Your names must match on both KrisFlyer and ALL for transfers to be processed.

Conclusion

KrisFlyer members can now convert miles to Accor Live Limitless points, but with a 9:2 transfer ratio, it’s one of the worst ways of using your miles. Even if you aren’t able to find award space for the dates you want to travel, you’d get more value from your miles by using them to offset the cost of a commercial ticket, spending them on hotels via KrisFlyer vRooms, or at participating Kris+ merchants.

If you really want to earn ALL points, much better ways exist, such as Max Miles conversions and the occasional HSBC transfer bonus.ย

Yes. It is true that it is not worth it… But what is great… you can convert grab rewards to Live Points and then to KF! which now… Grab is useless….
