Kris+ Rewards Accelerator: Earn up to 1,500 bonus miles

From now till 28 February 2025, earn 500 or 1,500 bonus miles based on your cumulative spend with Kris+. It's capped, though!

Kris+ has launched a new campaign called Rewards Accelerator, which offers users up to 1,500 bonus miles based on their cumulative spending during the two-week promotion period.

These miles can be transferred to KrisFlyer, and itโ€™s a nice little bonus to earn, assuming you were planning to spend on Kris+ anyway.

S$5 for new Kris+ Users
Get S$5 (in the form of 750 KrisPay miles) when you sign-up with code W644363 and make your first transaction

The catch is that this is a capped promotion, so meeting the minimum spend is no guarantee of receiving anything (where have we heard that before?).

Kris+ Rewards Accelerator: How it works

From 14-28 February 2025, Kris+ users can earn either 500 or 1,500 bonus miles when they register for the Rewards Accelerator and meet a certain cumulative minimum spend on the Kris+ app.

Reward Qualifying Spend Cap
500 bonus miles S$200 to S$499.99 1,000 users
1,500 bonus miles S$500 or more 500 users

For the avoidance of doubt, Kris+ users will only be eligible for one of these rewards. If you spend S$600, for example, youโ€™ll receive 1,500 bonus miles in total, not 2,000 bonus miles.

Registration can be done on the Kris+ app, under the Challenges section. Alternatively, you can look for the banner on the homepage and register with a couple of taps. Only spending made after registration will count towards the threshold, so make a point of doing it now!

Qualifying spend consists of any transaction made through the Kris+ app via Apple Pay (for iOS devices) or Google Pay (for Android devices) in Singapore, at any Kris+ merchant.

Assuming you meet the minimum spend exactly on the dot, the incremental reward is equivalent to an extra 2.5 mpd (at the 500 bonus miles tier) or 3 mpd (at the 1,500 bonus miles tier).

How to meet the minimum spend quickly

While there isnโ€™t any registration cap, there is an overall eligibility cap of 1,000 users (500 bonus miles) and 500 users (1,500 bonus miles). In other words, your reward is not guaranteed, even if you meet the minimum spend.

So ideally youโ€™ll complete this as soon as possible, and one option worth considering is buying vouchers through the app (under Discover > Purchase Deals). Youโ€™ll still earn the regular number of KrisPay miles for these transactions, based on the merchantโ€™s usual earn rate.

For example, Dancing Crab is a 6 mpd merchant, and also sells a S$100 cash voucher for S$82. Youโ€™ll earn a total of 492 miles on this purchase (S$82 @ 6 mpd), while clocking S$82 towards the minimum spend for Rewards Accelerator.

Vouchers can be redeemed in-store anytime within the validity period.

When will bonus miles be credited?

If you met the minimum spend and were within the eligibility cap, the bonus miles will be credited to your Kris+ app by 14 March 2025.

These miles can be transferred to KrisFlyer, but only within 21 days of crediting. If you wait more than 21 days, or spend any portion of these miles via the Kris+ app, the remaining balance will be stuck in Kris+.

Given that this bonus will be credited some time after you made the transaction, itโ€™s entirely possible that you might forget to make the transfer. Iโ€™d recommend setting a calendar reminder, just in case!

Conclusion

Kris+ has launched a new challenge called Rewards Accelerator, which I suspect will become a monthly feature. It offers a fairly modest bonus of 500 or 1,500 extra miles for being the first to rack up a minimum spend of S$200 or S$500 respectively, but the eligibility cap means that nothingโ€™s guaranteed.

If you want to improve your chances, buying a Kris+ voucher would let you meet the minimum spend without even leaving home.

Just remember to check your Kris+ account in mid-March to see if you were successful, because miles need to be transferred out within 21 days of crediting.
