The DBS Takashimaya AMEX has the unique distinction of being the only DBS card to consistently extend a welcome offer even to existing DBS cardholders.
This could be extremely lucrative back in the day, but unfortunately, the offer has been getting less compelling over time. Over the past few years, the value of the existing customer welcome offer has dropped from S$200 to S$150 to S$88 cashback, and now the latest promotion offers S$60โฆ in the form of Takashimaya vouchers.
Itโs better than nothing โ signing up for an additional card with other banks normally leaves you empty-handed โ but a far cry from the heyday of 2021, when you could spend S$200 and get a 100% cashback rebate!

New and existing DBS/POSB cardmembers who apply and receive approval for a DBS Takashimaya AMEX Card from 1 February to 30 June 2025 will receive 200 Takashimaya Bonus Points, which can be converted into S$60 of Takashimaya shopping vouchers.
This welcome offer is not available for the DBS Takashimaya Visa Card.

A minimum spend of S$300 within 30 days of approval is required at:
- Takashimaya Department Store (excluding Cold Storage, Food Village and selected food merchants at B2 Food Hall)
- Takashimaya Online Store
- Participating speciality stores at Takashimaya Shopping Centre
There is no cap on the maximum number of eligible applicants. The first yearโs annual fee is waived, so itโs basically free money if you meet the eligibility criteria.
In addition to this, new DBS/POSB cardmembers will enjoy a further S$100 cashback, on top of the Takashimaya Bonus Points. However, if you meet the new cardmember definition, this should not be the first DBS card you apply for. Instead, you should take advantage of a different DBS welcome offer thatโs only for new-to-bank customers, then apply for the DBS Takashimaya AMEX subsequently.
For example, new cardmembers can currently enjoy 28,000 bonus miles when they apply for a DBS Altitude Card, or S$300 cashback with a DBS yuu Card. These are far superior welcome offers to S$100 cashback!
Qualifying spend period
Cardholders will need to make a minimum qualifying spend of S$300 within 30 days from the date of approval.
For example, if your card is approved on 15 March 2025 the qualifying spend period is 15 March to 14 April 2025.
When will the points be credited?
The welcome gift will be credited within three months from the end of the qualifying spend period.
Takashimaya Bonus Points can be redeemed via the Takashimaya app.

The DBS Takashimaya AMEX is now offering 200 Takashimaya Bonus Points to new and existing DBS/POSB cardmembers, equivalent to S$60 in Takashimaya shopping vouchers.
This is a definite step down from the previous offer of S$88 cashback, but in the cold light of day, itโs still better than nothingโ and if youโre an existing DBS/POSB cardmember, itโs all you can hope for.
That said, if you meet the new DBS/POSB cardmember definition, then you should be looking to take advantage of another welcome offer first before applying for this card.
