Wyndham Rewards offering status match for elite members of other loyalty programs

Submit proof of status in another hotel loyalty program to receive a status match with Wyndham Rewards.

If you are currently holding elite status in a hotel loyalty program and want to explore a new hotel brand, you will be glad to know that Wyndham Rewards is currently holding a status match promotion. Under this promotion, you simply have to provide proof of status in another hotel chain to be matched to a similar elite tier in the Wyndham Rewards program.

Submit proof of status to get matched, no past stay requirements needed

Wyndham Rewards is being extremely generous with their status match promotion as you only need to provide proof of status in a competing hotel loyalty program in order to receive a status match.

Once you have navigated to the status match page, you have the option to choose which chain you would like to have your status matched from. The usual favourites Marriott and Hilton are there but you can simply click “Others” if you’re currently holding onto status from a hotel chain which isn’t listed. After which, simply attached a screenshot of your current status with the competing chain and wait 5-7 days for your new Wyndham Rewards status to be reflected.

Complete certain stay requirements within 90 days to keep your status

After you have obtained elite status in Wyndham Rewards, you will have the option to complete a certain number of stays within 90 days to maintain the status which was given to you. Otherwise, you can always let it lapse after 90 days if you’re only obtaining it to try out a new hotel brand under the Wyndham umbrella.

If you do wish to maintain elite status in the Wyndham Rewards program, here’s how many nights you will need to keep the respective statuses:

After hitting the respective stay requirements to keep your status, your new status will remain in effect through December 31 of the calendar year following the calendar year in which you have successfully completed all the stays. You can refer to the terms and conditions for the exact details.

If you have been matched to Wyndham Rewards Gold, you have the luxury of not needing to complete any stay requirements to keep it and your status will expire according to the terms and conditions of the Wyndham Rewards program.

Here’s what you will get with your elite status in the Wyndham Rewards program:

With Gold or Diamond status in Wyndham Rewards, you will receive early check-in privileges as well as a suite upgrade for Diamond members when available.

Days Hotel and Ramada are some of the hotel brands which belongs to the Wyndham group In Singapore, there’s the Days Hotel at Zhongshan Park and the Ramada Singapore which are side by side. There are several Wyndham properties in Malaysia as well with the closest to us being the Ramada Plaza Melaka.

Concluding Thoughts

Holding onto hotel elite statuses in various chains is definitely useful as it may come in handy when another status match offer comes about. I’ll be trying to match by Hilton Honors Gold into Wyndham Rewards and I technically should be matched into their Gold elite tier.

Although I do not have any stays planned at any Wyndham properties in the near future, I might just plan a staycation to see how Wyndham properties are like if I successfully get matched into an elite tier in Wyndham Rewards.
