GrabRewards Flash Sale: Up to 80% off selected redemptions

Expired

Stock up your vouchers for the latest stay-home stint with GrabReward's limited-time flash sale.

From now till 31 May 2021 (or while stocks last), Grab is offering up to 80% off selected items in the GrabRewards catalogue. This sale can be accessed through the rewards section of the Grab app.

GrabRewards Flash Sale

While 80% off sounds impressive, most people will have to settle for a 30-50% off instead. The only rewards available at 80% off at the S$1 GrabFood/GrabMart vouchers, which are of limited use. S$5 vouchers are at 50% off and S$10 vouchers are at 30% off.ย

Voucher Regular Price Flash Sale Price
S$1 off GrabFood 550 110
S$1 off GrabMart 550 110
S$5 off GrabFood 2,500 1,250
S$5 off GrabMart 2,500 1,250
S$10 off GrabFood 5,000 3,500
S$10 off GrabMart 5,000 3,500

In that sense, this sale is slightly weaker than the previous flash sale, where a flat 35% pointsback was offered on vouchers going all the way up to S$40.ย

It’s also worth remembering that Grab allows you to use a maximum of one voucher per order, so if you purchased one of those Grab Stay-Home Packs, you won’t be able to stack the savings.ย

Vouchers redeemed during this sale must be used by 30 June 2021, and each member can redeem a maximum of two of each voucher type.ย

How are GrabRewards points earned?

Back in March 2021, Grab changed the GrabRewards earning structure to further reward users who spent with the GrabPay wallet, as opposed to a credit or debit card. This is basically meant to entice you to maintain a GrabPay wallet balance.ย

Points per S$1 Spent
(From 22 March 2021)
Member Tier GrabPay Wallet Credit/ Debit Card Cash
Member 3 1 0
Silver 3ย  1 0
Gold 4.5 1.5 0
Platinum 6 2 0

GrabPay wallet balances can now be cashed out to a bank account, provided the balance wasn’t topped up via a credit card.ย Virtually all credit cards (with an exception or two) no longer reward GrabPay top-ups though, so there’s little reason why you’d want to do that in the first place.

Conclusion

When I first saw “80% off”, I cursed myself for cashing out most of my points during the previous flash sale. But upon closer inspection, I think the previous 35% pointsback offer would actually work out better for most GrabRewards users (not to mention there wereย numerous third party awards with CapitaStars, Qoo10 and Lazada available too).

Limited redemptions are available, so decide quickly whether you want to cash out.ย
