Great deal: 1-for-1 pre-departure ART & PCR tests on Klook

Pre-departure testing can take a big bite out of your travel budget, especially if you’re travelling as a family and the country you’re visiting requires the more expensive PCR tests. 

But here’s some good news: On 4 April only, Klook is offering UOB cardholders 1-for-1 pre-departure ART and PCR tests at four different providers islandwide. 

What’s more, most providers allow for open dating and/or complimentary changes, meaning you can buy a test now and figure out the trip details later. Some even allow free cancellation, so you can get your money back if you ultimately decide not to travel.

1-for-1 pre-departure tests with Klook

On 4 April 2022, UOB cardholders can enjoy 1-for-1 ART and PCR pre-departure tests with the following promo codes:

• AcuMed: APR4UOBACUMED
• Doctor Anywhere: APR4UOBDA
• Healthway Medical: APR4UOBHEALTH
• The Testing Pro: APR4UOBTTP

Each code can be used a maximum of once per account, which means you can buy a maximum of two tests (one free, one paid) from each provider. 

To use the code, add two of an eligible item to your basket. You’ll see the cost of the second item removed at check-out. 

Do note this promotion only applies to specific tests; you’ll need to chose the correct promotional item or the code will fail. 

For example, the promo code won’t work if you select Healthway Medical’s PCR test. You need to pick the PCR + Serology test for the discount to reflect.

In my opinion, this promotion is most useful for AcuMed, because S$53.50 for a PCR tests is the cheapest I’ve ever seen it in Singapore.

My advice is not to bother with Doctor Anywhere and The Testing Pro’s offers. There’s no point travelling to a clinic or having someone come to your house to administer an ART, when you can do a tele-supervised ART at home from just S$12 + the cost of your own ART kit.

Each merchant has their own T&Cs regarding changes and cancellations, which I’ve summarised below:

• AcuMed: Fixed date booking; reschedule up to 24 hours before appointment, fully refundable
• Doctor Anywhere: Open date booking, refundable under certain conditions
• Healthway Medical: Open date booking, fully refundable
• The Testing Pro: Fixed date booking, reschedule up to 24 hours before appointment with  admin fee, cancellation fees apply

AcuMed and Healthway Medical have the most flexible policies, even allowing a full refund should you not use the test you purchase.

Doctor Anywhere and The Testing Pro have more onerous conditions, but as I mentioned, in the previous section, there’s no point taking up their offers anyway.

For one day only, Klook is offering UOB cardholders 1-for-1 pre-departure COVID-19 tests, which brings the cost of a PCR test down to just S$53.50 per person. 

That’s an excellent price to pay, considering how the cheapest PCR test is currently around the S$90 mark. What’s more, that particular test (provided by AcuMed) is fully refundable if unused, so I’d definitely consider booking it as a just-in-case option.
