DBS has a long-running tie up with Expedia that offers DBS Altitude, Insignia and Vantage cardholders 6 mpd on eligible hotel and flight bookings.
The new DBS Vantage Card has now been belatedly added to the list as well, which could be worth considering especially if you’re still trying to hit your sign-up bonus.
Earn 6 mpd on Expedia with DBS Vantage
DBS Vantage x Expedia |
From 1 October 2022 to 31 March 2023, DBS Vantage Cardholders will earn 6 mpd on the first S$5,000 per calendar month spent on participating flights or hotel bookings via Expedia.
This is broken down into:
- The usual 1.5 mpd for local spending
- A bonus 4.5 mpd for Expedia transactions
1.5 mpd will be credited initially, with the 4.5 mpd bonus component credited within 45 days after the end of each spend period, defined as:
- 1 October to 31 December 2022
- 1 January to 31 March 2023
Bookings must be made through a dedicated Expedia microsite, and here’s where comparison shopping is essential- these landing pages sometimes result in higher prices than searching through public channels, so make sure you aren’t paying over the odds.
The cap applies on a card-level basis, which is to say that the DBS Vantage, DBS Altitude AMEX, DBS Altitude Visa and DBS Insignia each have their own S$5,000 monthly cap.
Bookings can be made for any future date, but must be charged to the card by 31 March 2023. This promotion has historically been extended numerous times, so I don’t expect that to be a hard deadline.
Which hotel and airlines are eligible?
Eligible hotel bookings are those where customers make payment to Expedia at the time of booking (i.e. not applicable you choose to pay later at the hotel), with the exception of hotels stated in this list. Unfortunately, the exclusion list contains most major chains like Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt.
Eligible airline bookings are those made with the following carriers.

Singapore Airlines is a notable absentee, but Korean Air, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines could prove useful, depending on where you’re going.
The promotion is also valid for travel packages comprising of eligible hotel and eligible flight bookings made in a single transaction.

Conclusion
DBS Vantage Cardholders can now earn 6 mpd on Expedia flight and hotel bookings made by 31 March 2023, though they should beware of potentially higher rates (especially for hotels) when using the dedicated microsite.
Be sure to make hotel payments directly via Expedia and only book tickets with participating airlines if you want to enjoy the bonuses.
Hi
Not worth the extra cost to get 6MPD
Venice for 4 nights cost $1.5k in booking.com against $2k on Expedia for the same room type and view.
Same with Florence and Milan
Will skip
