*New-to-bank customers are defined as those who do not currently hold a principal CIMB card, and did not previously have a principal CIMB card that was closed in the past 12 months. Debit cards, supplementary cards and corporate cards do not count. |
A minimum spend of at least S$988 within 60 days of approval is required.
Which CIMB cards are eligible?
Applications for the following cards via any of the links in this article will be eligible for the offer.
Card | Income Req. | Annual Fee |
CIMB Visa Signature Apply |
S$30K | None |
CIMB World Mastercard Apply |
S$30K | None |
CIMB Visa Infinite Apply |
S$120K | None |
All CIMB cards are free for life for both principal and supplementary cardholders.
Applications must be received by 28 February 2023 and cards must be approved by 12 March 2023. Be sure to monitor your inbox for any emails from CIMB; based on my experience last month they may require additional documentation, and delayed submission will affect your approval date and hence eligibility for the offer.
Once again, take note that this promotion is for new-to-bank customers only; existing customers will not receive any gift.
For context, we previously saw CIMB offering S$330 cash in October 2022, and S$350 cash in November 2022.
Application Steps
- Apply through any of the links in this article
- You will be directed to a SingSaver landing page. Enter your email address and click โconfirmโ
- Complete your application and take a screenshot of the Application Reference Number (for CIMB, this is 8 alphanumeric characters, e.g 1-xxxxxxx)
- Fill in the SingSaver rewards form that will be sent to your email. Itโs vital you fill in the form. No form, no reward.
Youโll be able to indicate your choice of gift in the rewards form if applicable.
Qualifying Spend
The approved card must be activated and a minimum qualifying spend of S$988 charged in the first 60 days from approval.
Qualifying spend excludes the following (refer to the T&Cs for the full list):
- Amaze transactions
- Charitable donations
- Education expenses
- Government transaction
- GrabPay top-ups
- Insurance premiums
- Utilities bills
Gift Fulfillment
Gifts will be fulfilled by SingSaver within four months of meeting the qualifying criteria. The reason for the long delay is the need to confirm the qualifying criteria with the bank. If you’re not comfortable with this timeline, please don’t apply; you’re just going to get annoyed with the wait.
Cash gifts will be fulfilled by PayNow, while merchandise will need to be collected at a specified redemption centre.
Any enquiries about gift fulfillment should be sent to info@singsaver.com.sg

The full T&Cs can be found here.
Conclusion
CIMB cards aren’t really something a miles chaser would use for everyday spend, but it’s hard to argue with a S$300 cash gift for S$988 spend. It should be noted, however, that this is slightly less than the recent offers we’ve seen. If you don’t mind waiting, then there will probably be other offers throughout 2023.
Otherwise, don’t forget to apply via the correct links and fill up the rewards redemption form in order for your gift to be processed correctly.
New to bank means new account? Or just first time credit card applicant? I have a CIMB savings account but no credit card.
Can. So long as no card
Well the million-dollar question will be how many months or years will they take to approve your card application? Late last year, I did an online application for a CIMB bank account using Singpass (as they were offering good Fixed Term deposit rates). After doing the application I transferred the required $1000 and the email said the account would be opened and I would receive the authorisation code to access the account within 1 business day. A month later, I was still waiting. Numberous phone calls acheived nothing. In the end, I gave up, and told them I no longer… Read more »
absolutely. I gave up on my recent application too because they took forever to confirm and issue the card. don’t bother!
You should see their ibanking website man. Straight outta 2003.
Yes, I had the same experience. Applied for a FD and it took 3 weeks or more to finally opened the account, losing interest in the end. In comparison, applied for FD with RHB and the FD was settled in 24 hours! For credit cards, also applied for CIMB and it took like 3 weeks (already over the promo period) for them to approve a simple card application!
