Hilton Points Plus: Earn 2,500 bonus points per stay

Expired

From 1 January to 1 May 2024, register and earn up to 2,500 bonus points per stay at Hilton properties worldwide.

Hilton Honors has announced the details of its next global promotion called Points Plus, valid for all stays between 1 January and 1 May 2024. This begins as soon as the current Multiply Your Points ends on 31 December 2023, which means there’ll be no gap between promotions.

Even though this is arguably weaker than the previous one, you have to admire that Hilton is so consistent about running back-to-back promotions.

Under the Points Plus promotion, registered Hilton Honors members will earn:

  • 2,000 bonus points per stay, plus
  • 500 bonus points per stay when you use Digital Key

This is valid for stays between 1 January to 1 May 2024.

Registered members checking in before 1 January 2024 will receive credit for their stay if the stay is completed on or after 1 January 2024 and prior to or on 1 May 2024.  If you start a stay in the middle of the promotion period and check-out after 1 May 2024, you will not receive the bonus.

Do note the following:

  • Registration is required, and must be done prior to starting your first eligible stay (it’s fine if you booked your stays prior to registration)
  • No minimum stay length is required; you’ll earn the same bonus whether you stay one night or ten nights
  • There is no cap on the maximum bonus points you can earn
  • Bonus points will also be granted to award stays
  • All bonus points will post within 6-8 weeks

The Digital Key bonus an be earned so long as it’s successfully issued during the stay. You can request for a Digital Key through the Hilton Honors app during online check-in, or during the stay itself.

The FAQs for this promotion can be found here, and T&Cs at the bottom of this page.

Is it worth it?

I basically consider this to be a bonus of 2,500 points per stay, since it’s so easy to get a Digital Key. At a value of 0.5 US cents per point, that works out to an extra US$12.50 return per stay.

Those doing award stays or short stays at low-cost properties would obviously find this promotion more attractive. If you’re planning a longer and more expensive stay, this will hardly move the needle.

As a reminder, Hilton members will continue to earn their regular points and elite bonuses under this promotion.

🏨 Hilton Points per US$1
Tier Earn Rate*
Member 10 points per US$1
Silver 12 points per US$1
Gold 18 points per US$1
Diamond 20 points per US$1
*Stays at Tru and Home2 properties earn 5 base points per US$1

How does this promotion compare to the current one?

For perspective, Hilton’s current Multiply Your Points promotion offers registered Hilton Honors members:

This is clearly a much stronger promotion, except unless you exclusively redeem points for award stays.

Conclusion

Hilton’s Q1 2024 promotion offers up to 2,500 bonus points per stay for stays between 1 January to 1 May 2024, with no cap on the maximum bonus that can be earned.

I don’t think this should have a huge influence on where you plan your stays for this period, but it’s always worth registering just in case.
