The Standard Singapore and other Standard hotels joining World of Hyatt in May 2025

World of Hyatt has announced the integration timeline and award categories for selected Standard and StandardX hotels, including The Standard Singapore.

Hyatt closed a deal to acquire Standard International in October 2024, bringing more than 20 hotels from The Standard, The StandardX, Bunkhouse and The Peri Hotel brands under its umbrella.

If you’re unfamiliar with these brands, you could think of Standard like W, and StandardX like Aloft, because Amar Lalvani, the Executive Chairman of Standard International, actually led the global development of W Hotels back in the day.

The plan was always to integrate these properties into the World of Hyatt loyalty programme, and we’re now seeing the start of that process. This month, 10 hotels, including the recently-opened The Standard, Singapore, will start to offer World of Hyatt redemptions and benefits.

Standard Hotels joining World of Hyatt from May 2025

The Standard Ibiza

In May 2025, the following Standard and StandardX properties will commence full participation in the World of Hyatt loyalty programme.

Joining Date Properties (Category)
7 May 2025
  • The Standard, Ibiza (6)
14 May 2025
  • The Standard, London (6)
  • The Standard, High Line (6)
  • The Standard, East Village (6)
21 May 2025
  • The Standard, Bangkok (2)
  • The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit (2)
  • The StandardX, Melbourne (2)
  • The Standard, Hua Hin (3)
  • The Standard, Maldives (6)
  • The Standard, Singapore (5)

In addition to this, The Standard, Pattaya Na Jomtin and The Standard, Brussels are expected to open soon, and will join Categories 3 and 4 respectively.

You can already see The Standard, Ibiza listed in the World of Hyatt search results, reflecting Category 6 award pricing.

Unfortunately, it looks like Category 6 is where the vast majority of Standard hotels are gravitating towards, which strikes me as somewhat expensive given that some of these hotels are closer to 4 star than 5 star.

World of Hyatt has not shared any timeline for the integration of Bunkhouse Hotels, nor the remaining Standard hotels. Presumably this should happen over the next couple of months, so stay tuned.

What benefits will World of Hyatt members enjoy at Standard International hotels?

The Standard Bangkok

World of Hyatt members can look forward to pretty much the same benefits they’d enjoy at any other brand, including complimentary breakfast and room upgrades for Globalists, and 5 base points per US$1 at The Standard and The StandardX hotels. Stays will also earn nights towards elite status and Hyatt Milestone Rewards.

The Standard, StandardX and Bunkhouse Hotels will also join the list of brands participating in the Hyatt Brand Explorer award, where a free night award is granted for every five unique Hyatt brands stayed over the lifetime of a membership.

The Standard Singapore is Category 5

The Standard Singapore

I recently did a 1-night staycation at The Standard Singapore, located next door to the Shangri-La Singapore.

While this hotel is solidly in the 4-star category — don’t expect a spa or gym — I felt it punched above its weight with its eye-catching design and a phenomenal in-house restaurant in Kaya.

At Category 5, it’s also the cheapest World of Hyatt award redemption in Singapore, though that says more about how expensive the Andaz Singapore and Grand Hyatt Singapore are.

Conclusion

World of Hyatt will be integrating selected Standard properties from May 2025, which allows members to earn and burn points, as well as enjoy elite member benefits.

Eventually, this should add more than two dozen properties to the World of Hyatt umbrella, and more choice is always a good thing.
