Hilton’s current bonus points promotion, Moment’s Made Bigger, will end on 3 January 2019. Fortunately, Hilton has just announced a new promotion called “Points Unlimited” which will start onย 4 January 2019 and run until 5 May 2019.ย Registration for this promotion is required.
Earn 2,000 points per stay, additional 10,000 points after 5 stays/10nights
In this promotion, Hilton Honors members who register for the promotion prior to their stay will receive 2,000 bonus Hilton Honors per stay and an additional bonus of 10,000 Hilton Honors points for every 5 stays or 10 nights completed at Hilton hotels.ย This promotion actually rewards those who perform more stays at Hilton properties rather than those who stay for longer. All Hilton properties are participating in this promotion except for Hampton Inn properties in China.
There are no caps on the number of bonus points you can earn in this promotion. The bonus points that are awarded from Points Unlimited are on top of what you will ordinarily get as a Hilton Honors member when staying at a Hilton property. Stays booked before you register for this promotion will be eligible to earn the additional bonus points, as long as the stay is completed within the promotional period.
As per the Hilton Honors terms and conditions,ย a stayย is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again. Thus, making two separate reservations for two nights at the same property will only count asย one stay and not two stays.ย
Hilton Honors points can be boughtย at US 0.5 cents apiece but The Points Guy values them at US 0.6 cents apiece.ย I prefer to value them at the cost of which you can acquire them through sales, so 2,000 bonus points are worth approximately US$10 to me.
Cheap(er) status runs to attain eliteย status
This promotion is a great way to rack up Hilton Honors points and also to reduce the cost of a status run. If you are going for the Hilton Fast Track to Gold challenge that is being offered by Visa, you will need 2 stays/4nights to attain Hilton Honors Gold status under that promotion.
If you perform 2 different stays to clock your Hilton Honors Gold status, you will earn yourself a bonus of 4,000 Hilton Honors points compared to staying at the same hotel for 4-nights, which only earns you 2,000 bonus Hilton Honors points under the Points Unlimited promotion as that will only count as one stay. Hence, making two separate stays will give you more bang for your buck as you will get back US$20 worth of points in the form of the bonus 4,000 points.
With the current sale that Hilton is having for hotels in Asia Pacific, the cost for attaining Hilton Honors Gold, which gets you benefits such as complimentary breakfast and space available room upgrades, goes even lower.
Concluding Thoughts
Hilton always runs promotions like these which sees Hilton Honors members racking in quite a considerable number of bonus points. If you have upcoming stays with Hilton in 2019, be sure to register for this promotion to take advantage of the additional bonus points.
Even if you do not have stays planned with Hilton, it is still advisable to register for the promotion first as you never know when you might feel like having an impromptu holiday or staycation. Especially with some great rates that Hilton is having in their current Asia Pacific sale.

This is really good stuff, as Iโve already got Fast Track Diamond in bag for 2019, and am gunning to maintain Diamond til end 2020, with 30 stays in 2019.. This promo should bank me another 40,000 points, at least.. ??
So if I were to stay one night at a different hotel for a five night vacation, I would earn a bonus of 20,000 points? Or just going back and forth between two hotels every other night to get that 2000 points per night?
2000 points per night, x5 nites = 10,000 points… +10,000 points for 5 stays = 20,000 points… So thatโs correct..
Must it be booked using the website or app only? Will the booking thru Citibank concierge be considered too?
