Back in March 2019, foodpanda became a KrisFlyer partner, allowing customers to earn 1 KrisFlyer mile per $1 spent, with a minimum total spend (including delivery fees) of $35.
Effective immediately, foodpanda has doubled the earning rate to 2 KrisFlyer miles per $1 spent, while keeping the same minimum total spend of $35.
Miles are automatically deposited to your KrisFlyer account within 30 business days, with no transfer fees. This is still being positioned as a promotion that expires on 31 Dec 2019, so it remains to be seen if it becomes a permanent feature.
How does the revised earning rate compare to GrabFood?
GrabFood customers earn GrabRewards points on their orders, which can be converted into KrisFlyer miles at the following rates:
- Platinum: 1,400 points= 160 miles
- All other tiers: 1,500 points= 160 miles
This means that your effective mpd is
Tier | MPD with GrabFood |
Member | 0.32 |
Silver | 0.32 |
Gold | 0.48 |
Platinum | 0.69 |
This comes out much lower than the 2 mpd that foodpanda is offering, but on the flip side, there is no minimum spend required to earn GrabRewards points on GrabFood orders.
If you’re the sort who often does small orders, you’re definitely better off with GrabFood. On the other hand, if you’re the one who gets to order lunch for the office, you’re going to want to consider foodpanda.

Conclusion
In my personal experience, foodpanda’s customer service is abysmal so I give them a wide berth in favor of GrabFood and Deliveroo. That said, it’s still an opportunity to pick up free miles for those who use the service frequently.
