Announcing The Milelionโ€™s Monthly Miles Meetup for October 2019

At this month's meetup, learn everything you ever wanted to know about airfare pricing.

The Milelionโ€™s Monthly Miles Meetup is a place for miles enthusiasts to meet, mingle, and swap dance moves.

I’m pleased to announce the details of the next meetup:

Date: Wednesday, 30 October 2019
Venue: Westin Lobby Lounge, Asia Square Tower 2
Time: 7.00 pm till 9.00pm

Tickets will be available from 12 pm on Wednesday, 23 October 2019.

Get your meetup tickets here

Tickets have historically been free, but due to no-shows and late cancellations at past events, there’s now a $10 fee per ticket . The $10 fee, less a $1.44 ticket charge by EventBrite, will be put into a central pool to order table snacks during the event- I don’t keep any of it.

This year, we’re doing something a bit different at the Monthly Milelion Meetups by inviting a different guest from the industry each month, someone who can share insights from the other side of the loyalty/hotel/airline/rewards/credit card table. It’s a chance to ask pressing questions, provide passive aggressive feedback and maybe get insider info, depending on how drunk we can get them.

October Meetup Guest: Paul Whiteway, Senior Director, Skyscanner Asia

This month, we’ll be hosting Paul Whiteway, Senior Director for Skyscanner Asia. If you’ve always wanted to know how airlines price tickets, which cities to fly out of for cheaper Business Class fares, or whether there’s any truth to those rumours about using incognito mode for cheaper tickets, this is your chance to ask!

Paul leads Skyscanner’s Asia operations. He is also MD and Board member of Skyscanner Japan which is a JV with Yahoo. He has been working with Internet companies since the industryโ€™s formation and is experienced at scaling businesses in both start-up and corporate environments. He has been working in Asia since 2007 where, amongst other roles, he held senior roles at Yahoo!, leading product, editorial and engineering teams across the region and was Chief Operating Officer for the ASX listed company, iProperty, based in Malaysia. Paul is also an Entrepreneur in Residence at INSEAD Singapore where he provides coaching and advice to students interested in entrepreneurship.

Conclusion

Meetups are a great opportunity to meet fellow miles enthusiasts. Come down, get a drink, and avoid eye contact the whole evening!
