Announcing The Milelion’s Monthly Miles Meetup for June

This does not count as community service.

The Milelion’s Monthly Miles Meetup is a place for miles enthusiasts to meet, mingle, make merry, and engage in various pieces of performance art.

I’m pleased to announce the details of the next meetup:

Date: Thursday, 20 June 2019
Venue: Lobby Lounge at Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre
Time: 7.00 pm till the intervals between awkward silences pass 10 minutes

Tickets will be available from 7 pm on Tuesday, 11 June 2019.

Get your meetup tickets here

Tickets have historically been free, but due to no-shows and late cancellations at past events, there’s now an $8 fee per ticket . The $8 fee, less a $1.35 ticket charge by EventBrite, will be put into a central pool to order table snacks during the event- I don’t keep any of it.

This year, we’re doing something a bit different at the Monthly Milelion Meetups by inviting a different guest from the industry each month, someone who can share insights from the other side of the loyalty/hotel/airline/credit card table. It’s a chance to ask pressing questions, provide passive aggressive feedback and maybe get insider info, depending on how drunk we can get them.

This month, we’re welcoming Joel Leong, Co-Founder of ShopBack.

June Meetup Guest: Joel Leong, Co-Founder, ShopBack

Joel heads up Merchant Development at ShopBack. A go-getter and a world class negotiator, he is responsible for driving deals and partnerships to bring the most rewarding shopping experience for ShopBack’s users. Joel holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the National University of Singapore and hailed previously from Zalora and the Economic Development Board of Singapore.

Joel was the Regional Head of Partnerships in ZALORA Southeast Asia under Rocket Internet and Senior Officer of the Singapore Economic Development Board prior to his journey as a start-up founder.

Conclusion

Meetups are a great opportunity to meet fellow miles enthusiasts. Come down, get a drink, and avoid eye contact the whole evening!
