From now till 7 May 2020, KrisFlyer members can win a share of 300,000 KrisFlyer and KrisPay miles by playing the latest KrisFlyer game, “Game of Myles”.
Who is Myles, you might ask?
Why, he’s Singapore Airlines’ new mascot, named in a contest where my awesome proposal of “Miley McMilesFace” was glossed over. You may have seen this adorable scamp in the trailers that play before inflight movies.
Myles is a veritable ladies’ man.
He’s everything I’m not.
Find someone who looks at you the way this lady does Myles.
How it works
Here’s the weirdest thing: when I played the game this morning it appeared as in the screenshots below. Now, it’s loading a completely different game, where you catch falling icons instead.
Perhaps it’s a cache issue- use Incognito mode when playing to ensure you have the right version. Prizes and other information remain unchangedย |
The premise of the game is simple enough. You have 60 seconds to find all the KrisFlyer-related icons on the map- kind of like Where’s Waldo. The faster you find the items, the higher your score (you get 0 if you don’t find all the items before the time expires).
What are KrisFlyer-related icons? Things like boarding passes, hotels, petrol, grocery carts, shopping bags…anything that lets you earn KrisFlyer miles. Be careful not to accidentally tap on any non KrisFlyer-related icons- each one will incur a time penalty of five seconds.
Curiously enough, spiders aren’t considered KrisFlyer-related. That’s odd, because my miles are collecting cobwebs now.
Prizes
The game ends at 2359 on 7 May 2020. The top 40 scores will be declared the winners, with the first 20 receiving 7,500 KrisFlyer miles, and the next 20 receiving 7,500 KrisPay miles. What’s the difference? The latter can only be used at KrisPay merchants at a rather mediocre value of 0.66 cents each.
Estimated Value | |
7,500 KrisFlyer miles | ~S$135 |
7,500 KrisPay miles | ~S$50 |
Singapore Airlines will publish the names of the winners on 13 May 2020, and prizes will be credited within 4-6 weeks. KrisFlyer miles earned from this contest are valid for one year (instead of the usual three), and KrisPay miles for the usual six months.
The terms and conditions can be found here. Do note that only KrisFlyer members who reside in Singapore are eligible to win.
Conclusion
The previous KrisFlyer game featured three prizes of 50,000, 30,000, and 10,000 miles each, so I suppose the idea this time was to lower the quantum but increase the quantity of prizes.
7,500 miles is enough for a one-way Economy Class ticket to Bali, so if you’re good at this sort of thing, it doesn’t hurt to try. As for me, I’m waiting for the VR version.
