Citibank has just launched a promotion for the Citi PremierMiles card that lets you earn up to 4 mpd on on your online transactions.
From now till 30 June 2020, the first 10,000 cardmembers to register their Citi PremierMiles card will earn an additional 2.8 mpd on food delivery, online pharmacy and leisure transactions, and an additional 1.8 mpd on online and in-store groceries.
This isย on topย of the usual 1.2 mpd earn rate, allowing you to earn up to 4 mpd total. Both the Citi PremierMiles Visa and Citi PremierMiles Mastercard are eligible.
Here’s how it works.
Registration
Registration is limited to the first 10,000 cardmembers, so grab your phone and register quickly. Send the following SMS to 72484:
PMONLINE<space><last 4 digits of your Citi PremierMiles card>
For example, if the last 4 digits of your card are 1234, you’d send “PMONLINE 1234”.
If you’re overseas (why?), you can still register by sending the keyword to +65 96572484.
You will receive a confirmation SMS letting you know your registration is effective.
Earn an additional 2.8 mpd for food delivery, pharmacy, shopping and Netflix
Transactions at the following online retail merchants will earn a total of 4 mpd (the base 1.2 mpd, plus a further bonus of 2.8 mpd):
Merchant | MCC |
Deliveroo | 5812- Eating Places and Restaurants 5814- Fast Food Restaurants |
FoodPanda Singapore | 5499- Convenience Stores and Specialty Markets |
Guardian | 5912- Drug Stores and Pharmacies |
iHerb | 5499- Convenience Stores and Specialty Markets |
Lazada | 5311- Department Stores |

Watsons Estore | 5912- Drug Stores and Pharmacies |

Earn an additional 1.8 mpd for in-store or online grocery purchases
Transactions at the following supermarkets will earn a total of 3 mpd (the base 1.2 mpd, plus a further bonus of 1.8 mpd). This applies regardless of whether you spend in-store or online.
- Amazon Retail
- Amazon SG
- Amazon Prime
- Cold Storage
- EAMart
- Giant
- Jasons Market Place
- Lazada Redmart
- NTUC Fairprice
- Sheng Siong
A total cap of S$1,000 applies
Whether you’re transacting at 1.8 mpd or 2.8 mpd merchants, the total additional rewards you can earn is capped at S$1,000 for the promotion period.
In other words, if you were to spend all S$1,000 on 2.8 mpd merchants, you’d receive a total of 4,000 miles, split into:
- 1,200 base miles, as per the existing T&Cs
- 2,800 bonus miles, as per this promotion
Since the cap is shared, you’ll want to divert as much spending as you can towards the 2.8 mpd merchants.
If you want to buy groceries, one workaround is to purchase Cold Storage gift vouchers on Lazada, then spend them physically in-store. That way you’ll end up earning 4 mpd on groceries, instead of the maximum 3 mpd you’d otherwise have received.
Do note that the Citi Rewards card is running a similar promotion, but offering a much better rate of up to 8 mpd. If you have both cards, you definitely want to exhaust that cap first.
Other things to note
The bonus miles will be credited to your account within 2 months from the end of the promotion period, i.e by 31 August 2020.
You can read the full terms & conditions here.
Conclusion
While this promotion is not as good as the one available to Citi Rewards customers, it’s still a great rate in and of itself.
For those who hold both the Citi PremierMiles and Citi Rewards card, you can always max out the latter’s cap first before switching over to the former.
Will there be a formal confirmation if I am successfully enrolled? The wording for other promotions (e.g., Citi Prestige) is usually ‘you have been successfully enrolled’, not just ‘your enrollment request has been received’.
I think that’s the official confirmation- that’s what t and c say you should get
Does the bonus Citimiles expire?
