Singapore Airlines has officially unveiled the pricing for its Discover Your Singapore Airlines experiences. These were initially intended to be kept under wraps until closer to launch, but it looks like last night’s leak of the SIA@Home packages might have forced their hand.

Ah, SIA@Home, the reason why these prices are getting released in advance in the first place. It appears that what was posted to KrisShop was indeed accurate, and when bookings open on 5 October 2020, you can expect to pay the following prices:

Wine and Dine First Class From S$448 56,000
Wine and Dine Business Class From S$288 36,000

The First Class package will include a meal for two based on your choice of menu, comprising our signature satay canape, Oscietra caviar, appetiser, main course and dessert. Main course options include international cuisine favourites such as poached lobster and Kyo-Kaiseki.

Customers may also select either a bottle of Burgundy red or white wine. In addition, they will receive a pair of First Class amenity kits (interesting, since the leaked listing on KrisShop.com stated that only one First Class kit would be received).

Add-ons available to upgrade the wine to a champagne or include tableware and more of
amenities.

The Business Class package will include a meal for two based on your choice of menu,  comprising our signature satay canape, appetiser, main course and dessert. Main course options include international cuisine favourites such as Hanakoireki and roasted lamb loin.

Customers may also select either a bottle of French wine or brut champagne. In addition, they will receive a pair of Business Class amenity kits.

Add-ons available to include tableware and more of amenities.

For more details on these dining packages, refer to this article.

Conclusion

Are the prices as bad as I feared? Not quite- the Economy and Premium Economy A380 dining packages are quite reasonable, when you factor in the entirety of the experience, and while the Business and First Class packages aren’t what you’d call cheap, they’re a lot more worth it than the SIA@Home options.

What do you think of how Singapore Airlines has priced these?

Sigh. 30 minutes, $530. I don’t know man.

Dexter

“Are they as bad as I feared?” Did you see the bit about $500++ add on for 30 mins simulator??

Think about the bang for buck you’d get at a Hotel 81 for 500++. You could have a whole Grecian ‘conference’ in your room and probably throw someone out the window for that.

Dexter

You’re right, most of the prices are sensible. I just meant the simulator prices are insane. If you split it 3 ways it’s not really better ~ $210 for 10 minutes (590++/3)

If I’m going to be simulating anything for $210 for 10 minutes, it’s going to be a carnal relationship.

phister

A true punter always looks for bang for buck!

John

Y and PY prices for a380 dining are reasonable, but I am wondering about the portion? Y and PY food is also nothing fascinating.

The Restaurant A380 @Changi prices actually look sensible when compared to the insane SIA@Home prices. This may increase the take up rate for the Business and Suites package.
SIA 6D chess here.

Alian

Have you done the miles to dollar value conversion? Even if we go @ 2 cents a mile on a normal basis what SIA is offering for these packages day light robbery. It seem like less than a cent per mile.

Definitely not worth the miles redemption I’d reckon

Abeng

Compared to airfare, yes it’s horrible value.

For people who just want the experience, or for those who would’ve burned miles on other redemptions, 0.8 cents per mile is not too bad as opposed to ~0.4-0.5 (statement credit), vouchers, or ~0.6 gifts. It’s some middle ground I guess.

Jim

Whoever come up with this in SIA should be fired.

Guest

won’t be surprise, the Restaurant A380@Changi will be snapped in minutes.

Jim's a Donut

it’s going to be fully booked on the first day, you’re the one who should be fired here.

300 for a business class dinner? Crazy! That’s still food that is pre-cooked and heated up, even though it’s better than economy food (I’ve flown SQ business class many times). For SGD 650 (after tax) I rather have a blow out dinner for two at Morton’s with food that is much better. I can wait a little longer I guess to fly again.

And the at home prices are even more insane. They took six months to come up with this??

Ian

We get the first part of your comment. It is quite expensive for microwave food to be consumed at home, and many would prefer to enjoy in a restaurant.

Not sure why you saw the need to go ad hominem in the second part though, if you have better ideas, you could definitely write in suggestions to SQ, or offer your marketing consulting expertise and make some money selling your genius ideas. 🙂
