Great deal: 20% bonus on Frasers Property gifts cards, plus up to 6.8 mpd or 1.7% cashback

For a limited time, Frasers Property is selling S$60 mall gift cards for S$50 each, which can be redeemed across its 17 malls and developments island wide. Gift cards must be paid for with a GrabPay wallet balance, which means a further opportunity to stack up to 6.8 mpd or 1.7% cashback, depending on what credit card you have. 

A maximum of 5,000 gift cards will be sold, and the deal goes live at 11 a.m today (28 May 2021). I expect it’ll disappear really fast, so standby. 

Buy Frasers Experience gift cards with 20% bonus

From 11 a.m on 28 May 2021 until stocks run out , Frasers Experience members can purchase a S$60 digital gift card for S$50 using the code GRAB20. You’ll need to download the Frasers Experience app to buy gift cards (navigate to e-wallet, then tap “buy” under the digital gift card section). 

Each member can purchase a maximum of four gift cards, so you’re looking at paying S$200 for S$240 of value– none too shabby. Gift cards have a validity of 1 year from date of purchase. 

Gift card purchases can only be paid for with GrabPay, and you’ll earn GrabPay points ranging from 3-6 points per S$1 depending on your GrabRewards tier. 

Purchased gift cards will appear in the e-wallet section of the Frasers Experience app. You can use them for payment in-store by flashing the QR code. 

What card should I use to top up my GrabPay balance?

Frasers Experience gift cards must be paid for with your GrabPay wallet balance, and while most credit cards don’t offer rewards for top-ups anymore, there’s still a couple of options. 

If you hold an AMEX SIA Business Card and managed to register for April’s AMEX Offer for GrabPay top-ups, you can earn up to 6.8 mpd on your top-ups. This is broken down into:

• The usual 1.8 HighFlyer points per S$1
• A bonus of 5 HighFlyer points per S$1, capped at the first S$1,000 spent

1 HighFlyer point is currently worth 0.5 KrisFlyer miles, but from 13 July 2021 that ratio gets doubled to 1 HighFlyer point= 1 KrisFlyer mile. 

Alternatively, you can use the AMEX True Cashback Card or UOB Absolute Cashback Card to earn 1.5% and 1.7% cashback respectively on your GrabPay top-ups.

The wide variety of places you can liquidate your balance makes these cards as good as cash in my book. 

Conclusion

There’s only 5,000 gift cards up for grabs, so I’d look to snatch them up immediately when they go live. Be sure to top-up your GrabPay wallet balance in advance too- every second counts, and GrabPay’s autodebiting feature cannot be utilized for this promotion.
