MileLion Exclusive: Get 27,500 bonus miles with a new AMEX KrisFlyer Credit Card

Expired

Apply for an AMEX KrisFlyer Credit Card by 15 March and enjoy 15,000 miles on first spend, plus 12,500 bonus miles with S$5K spend.

From 1-15 March 2022, American Express is running a special flash deal for new AMEX KrisFlyer Credit Card sign-ups, exclusively for Milelion readers.

New cardholders will receive up to 15,000 bonus miles on their first spend (usually 5,000 miles), plus 5,000 bonus miles with S$2,500 spent in the first 3 months.

This is on top of the usual sign-up offer of 7,500 bonus miles with S$5,000 spent in the first 3 months, so including the base miles, you’re looking at a grand total of 33,000 miles for S$5,000 spend, an effective earn rate of 6.6 mpd.

โ“ New-to-AMEX

AMEX defines new customers as those who do not currently hold an existing principal American Express card, and have not cancelled an AMEX KrisFlyer Credit Card in the past 6 months (it’s fine if they’ve cancelled other AMEX cards).

Supplementary AMEX cards, Corporate/business AMEX cards, and AMEX cards issued by DBS, Citibank and UOB do not count.

In total, you’ll earn 33,000 miles for S$5,000 of spending, enough for a round-trip Economy Class ticket anywhere from Singapore up to Zone 4 (Hong Kong, Taiwan, China).

All bonus miles will be posted within 12 weeks of meeting the eligibility criteria. You can find the T&Cs of this offer here.

What spending is eligible?

The minimum spend can be met with any purchases of eligible goods or services which post to your account within the first 3 months after approval.

AMEX has a list of excluded spending categories here, but the key ones to note are:

  • GrabPay top-ups
  • Insurance
  • SPC transactions
  • Utilities

For the avoidance of doubt, hospital transactions, donations, and anything else not explicitly stated in the exclusion list will count as eligible spend.

Conclusion

Apply Here

If you’re new to American Express cards, this is an excellent opportunity to generate 33,000 miles from S$5,000 of spending. Even if you’re not a big spender, you could still get 15,000 miles with your first spend of any amount, and remember: purchases of vouchers/gift cards will count towards the minimum spend.

This offer ends 15 March 2022, so be sure to submit your application before then.

What if I have an AMEX taka card is it counted as new user?

Vince

Mr NoFlyer

Lucky me, I have just ordered a KrisFlyer Ascend, which is more expensive but gives lower Miles…

about 4.5k miles lesser, with a Sofitel staycation in replace of that. Not too bad no?

Kel

I am interested in signing up on the offer and was comparing the ascend and the kf card. It seems the ascend needs to pay the annual fee whereas the kf card is waived for 1st year too?

kelo

I had made an application through the link 2 days ago for the KF card. But there wasnt any confirmation via email or sms. Is that normal?

Gene

Do you think CardUp transactions count?

Abigail

If I cancelled my Amex card (not a Krisflyer card) just last week, and I currently don’t hold any Amex card, am I still eligible as “New-To-Amex”? (never held a krisflyer credit card either)

James

Yes would like a confirmation on this before I cancel my Amex cards.

Shiningstars

Iโ€™ve just received the card and did my first spent. Didnโ€™t receive the bonus miles as indicated. Any idea why?

Signed up under this promo but apparently the cs told me that I’m not registered under it. Anyone have a similar issue?
