IHG One Rewards has announced its summer global promotion, which runs from 18 May till 31 August 2022.
Registered members can between 2-4X IHG points, depending on how many nights they stay during the promotion period.

From 18 May till 31 August 2022, registered IHG Rewards members will earn 2-4X points on their stays as follows:
- Nights 2-5: 2X IHG points
- Nights 6-14: 3X IHG points
- Nights 15 onwards: 4X IHG points
Members are capped at 100,000 bonus IHG points for the duration of the promotion period.
Registration is already open, and must be made prior to an eligible stay. It doesn’t matter when your booking was made, so long as the stay falls within the promotion period.
As always, award nights don’t qualify towards this promotion, and all paid nights must be booked directly with IHG and be worth at least US$30 per night (before taxes and fees). Bonus points will post up to 6 weeks after an eligible stay.
How many points will you earn?

1 IHG point is worth roughly 0.5 US cents, so it’s like earning an additional 5-15% rebate on your stays. Diamond members would be looking at a total rebate of up to 25%, which is pretty nice indeed.

IHG recently launched its revamped loyalty programme called IHG One Rewards, which brings with it new tiers, milestone rewards, and new elite benefits.
The new elite benefits will only kick in from “early June 2022”, but the revised qualification and bonus points structure are already in place.

IHG has already extended existing elite status till February 2023, and if you currently hold Gold or Platinum Elite status, you’ll retain your current tier name through to its expiry (e.g. Golds won’t be bumped down to Silver, even though Silver is the entry-level elite tier in the new IHG One Rewards).
Here’s a summary of the benefits by tier. Once again, do note that the benefits tagged “new” will only come into effect from early June 2022.
The changes look promising, though I’ll reserve further comment until June is here and we have on-ground data points of how hotels are honouring benefits like room upgrades and breakfast.
Conclusion
IHG One Rewards members can register and earn up to 4X points on their stays till the end of August 2022. It could be a fairly lucrative promotion for those who have nights already planned, though one also needs to remember the 100,000 points bonus cap.
