DBS Altitude offering 8 mpd on Expedia hotel and airline bookings

Expired

From now till 30 April 2023, earn up to 8 mpd on selected airline and all hotel bookings made via Expedia with your DBS Altitude Card.

DBS has launched a new offer for DBS Altitude Cardholders, who can now earn up to 8 mpd on flight and hotel bookings made through Expedia. This is 33% more than the regular year-round rate of 6 mpd.

While hotels must be prepaid and only selected airlines are participating, this could still prove useful if you’re planning any upcoming travel.

Earn up to 8 mpd on Expedia with DBS Altitude Cards

DBS Altitude 8 mpd promo
DBS x Expedia Microsite

From 10 March to 30 April 2023, DBS Altitude AMEX and Visa cardholders will earn 8 mpd on flight or hotel bookings made through the dedicated DBS x Expedia page, broken down as follows.

  Earn Rate
All online flight & hotel transactions 3 mpd
Expedia transactions 3 mpd
Expedia transactions made from 10 March to 30 April 2023 2 mpd
Total  8 mpd

While the booking must be made from 10 March to 30 April 2023, the travel/stay period can be anytime.

The 8 mpd earn rate is capped at S$5,000 per month, or 40,000 miles in total. However, since the promotion runs for two months, you can earn up to 80,000 miles for the entire period by spending S$5,000 in March and S$5,000 in April.

What’s more, the cap applies on a card-level basis, so those who hold the DBS Altitude AMEX and DBS Altitude Visa could theoretically enjoy up to 160,000 miles.

Eligible hotels

Eligible hotel bookings are those where payment is made to Expedia at the time of booking (i.e. not applicable if you select to pay later at the hotel).

Interestingly enough, there are no exclusions for chain hotels. These are normally excluded from such upsized miles offers, but there’s no mention in the T&Cs this time round.

Eligible airlines

Eligible flight bookings are those made with any of the participating airlines below.

โœˆ๏ธ Participating Airlines
  • Air India
  • Air Macau
  • Air Mauritius
  • Air Niugini
  • Cambodia Angkor Air
  • China Eastern Airlines
  • China Southern Airlines
  • EVA Air
  • Finnair
  • flydubai
  • Garuda Indonesia
  • Hawaiian Air
  • IndiGo
  • Korean Air
  • Lao Airlines
  • Myanmar International Airways
  • Qatar Airways
  • Saudi Arabian Airlines
  • Shenzhen Airlines
  • Sichuan Airlines
  • Thai Airways International
  • Turkish Airlines
  • Xiamen Airlines

Since the previous promotion in September 2022, Air India, EVA Air, flydubai and IndiGo have been added to the list of eligible carriers.

The promotion is also valid for travel packages comprising of eligible hotel and eligible flight bookings made in a single transaction.

When will bonus miles be credited?

Transactions will earn 1.2 mpd (SGD) or 2.0 mpd (FCY) initially, with the remaining 1.8 mpd (SGD) or 1.0 mpd (FCY) credited by the 16th day of the following calendar month. If the 16th is not a working day, the crediting will happen on the next working day.

The remaining 5 mpd will be credited within 60 days after the end of the promotion period, i.e. by 29 June 2023.

Terms & Conditions

Be sure to comparison shop!

DBS Altitude Cardmembers can also earn 10 mpd on hotels with Kaligo

Whenever you’re booking through a dedicated landing page for a bank & OTA collaboration (whether it’s DBS with Expedia, UOB with Agoda etc.), you always need to make a point of comparison shopping.

While there shouldn’t be too much difference for flights, the difference for hotels can be significant. Make sure you’re not paying over the odds for miles!

I’d recommend doing a comparison with the hotel’s official website, as well as an alternative like Kaligo which offers up to 10 mpd for hotel bookings. Kaligo’s offer is set to lapse on 31 March 2023, but has been renewed so many times it’s practically an evergreen offer.

From now till 30 April 2023, DBS Altitude Cardmembers can earn up to 8 mpd on flight or hotel bookings made through Expedia, capped at S$5,000 per month.

If you don’t mind making a prepaid hotel reservation, or have plans to fly with one of the participating airlines, this could be a good opportunity to lock something in.
