UOB PRVI Miles offering 8 mpd on Expedia airline and hotel bookings

UOB PRVI Miles Cardholders can now enjoy an upsized earn rate of 8 mpd on flight and hotel bookings made through Expedia by 11 June 2023. This is 33% more than the regular year-round rate of 6 mpd. 

While hotels must be prepaid and only selected airlines are participating, this could still be useful if you’re planning any upcoming travel- even beyond the promo period.

From 15 May to 11 June 2023, UOB PRVI Miles Cardholders will earn 8 mpd on flight or hotel bookings made through the dedicated UOB x Expedia page, broken down as follows:

This offer is applicable to all three versions of the UOB PRVI Miles Card, namely:

• UOB PRVI Miles AMEX
• UOB PRVI Miles Mastercard
• UOB PRVI Miles Visa

While bookings must be made from 15 May to 11 June 2023, the travel/stay period can be anytime in the future. 

The bonus 2 mpd component is capped at S$3,000 for the entire promotion period, or 6,000 miles in total. In other words, this promotion lets you earn a total of 24,000 miles (S$3,000 @ 8 mpd) instead of the regular 18,000 miles (S$3,000 @ 6 mpd) on the first S$3,000 spend.

Any spend beyond S$3,000 will revert the usual year-round 6 mpd rate, which is uncapped. 

While this is not explicitly addressed in the T&Cs, based on previous promotions the caps have applied on a card-level basis. In other words, those who hold more than one UOB PRVI Miles Card can enjoy the offer once per card.

Eligible hotels

Eligible hotel bookings are those where payment is made to Expedia at the time of booking . For avoidance of doubt, the offer does not apply if you book on Expedia and opt to pay later at the hotel.

Interestingly enough, there are no exclusions for chain hotels. These are normally excluded from such upsized miles offers, but there’s no mention in the T&Cs this time round. 

Eligible airlines

Eligible flight bookings are those made with any of the participating airlines below. 

This is a relatively paltry list compared to similar Expedia offers with the DBS Altitude (23 airlines), though it does include popular carriers like Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines. 

The promotion is also valid for travel packages comprising of eligible hotel and eligible flight bookings made in a single transaction. 

When will bonus miles be credited?

Cardholders will initially receive the year-round 6 mpd rate, posted along with the transaction.

The promotional 2 mpd will be credited by 31 July 2023.

Whenever you’re booking through a dedicated landing page for a bank & OTA collaboration, you always need to make a point of comparison shopping. 

While there shouldn’t be too much difference for flights, the difference for hotels can be significant. Make sure you’re not paying over the odds for miles!
