AMEX Offer: S$100 back on S$500 spend at Shangri-La Hotels

American Express has been going strong with its hotel offers this year. Back in April, we saw an offer of up to S$495 of statement credits with Hyatt, IHG, Marriott, Millennium Hotels and Pan Pacific, and more recently there’s been a S$120 statement credit for Mandarin Oriental Hotels.

Now we have another one with Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, where registered cardholders receive a S$100 statement credit with a minimum spend of S$500. 

Registration is required, and can be done via the AMEX Offers portal.

Here’s the key details to take note of:

• Cardholders must spend at least S$500 in one or more transactions to trigger the credit
• All spend must be made in-person
• Payments must be made by 13 November 2023
• Registration is capped at 17,000 cards
• The offer can only be used once per registered card, but if you have multiple AMEX cards, you can enjoy the offer as many times as you have cards
• Excludes payments made for events, meetings, conferences, banquets and/or wedding packages

Do note that the payment must be made by 13 November 2023 to be eligible for this offer. If your check-in date is before 13 November 2023 but your check-out date is after, I’d recommend asking the front desk to charge your card in full at the time of check-in.

This offer is valid at participating Shangri-La Circle locations within Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore, namely:

Eligible spending includes room charges, dining and spa treatments.

Statement credits will post to your account within 15 business days, but are usually done much faster.

The offer for Mandarin Oriental ends on 17 September 2023, while the offers for Hyatt, IHG, Marriott, Millennium Hotels & Resorts and Pan Pacific Hotels Group end on 30 September 2023.

Conclusion

American Express cardholders can now register for a S$100 statement credit with a minimum spend of S$500 at a participating Shangri-La Hotel by 13 November 2023. 

This joins an already-impressive slate of hotel credit offers, including Hyatt, IHG and Marriott. Since the offer is valid once per card, those with multiple cards should ask the hotel if they can split up a larger transaction to enjoy the offer multiple times.
