New AMEX Offer: S$120 back for every S$600 spent with Mandarin Oriental Hotels

From now till 31 May 2024, enjoy S$120 off every S$600 spent with Mandarin Oriental Hotels on your registered AMEX card, as many times as you wish.

American Express has launched a new AMEX Offer for Mandarin Oriental Hotels worldwide, which offers registered cardholders a S$120 credit for every S$600 spent by 31 May 2024, with no cap on the maximum number of uses.

Registration is required, and can be done via the AMEX Offers portal.

What are AMEX Offers?

AMEX Offers are opportunities to earn bonus miles/points, or statement credits. These can be found in the “Offers” section of the AMEX app or web portal.

Registration is required, and some offers may be targeted. These are not applicable to DBS/Citi/UOB AMEX cardholders.

Get S$120 back on S$600 spent with Mandarin Oriental Hotels

Here’s the key details of this AMEX Offer:

  • Cardholders must spend at least S$600 in a single transaction at a single participating hotel
  • All spend must be made in-person
  • Payments must be made by 31 May 2024
  • No maximum registration cap
  • No limit to how many times the offer can be used
  • Excludes gift card purchases

This offer is valid at the following Mandarin Oriental Hotels:

  • Mandarin Oriental Paris
  • Mandarin Oriental Munich
  • Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong
  • The Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong
  • Mandarin Oriental Tokyo
  • Mandarin Oriental Singapore
  • Mandarin Oriental Ritz Madrid
  • Mandarin Oriental Palace Luzern
  • Mandarin Oriental Savoy Zurich
  • Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London
  • Mandarin Oriental Boston
  • Mandarin Oriental Miami
  • Mandarin Oriental New York

You must spend S$600 in a single transaction, so you won’t be able to combine spend across different hotel locations to make up a block.

There is no limit to the number of times you can use this offer, but to be on the safe side, I would ask the front desk to break up my transactions into S$600 blocks (since it’s not clear to me whether a single transaction of S$1,200 would trigger 2x S$120 credits or just a single one).

If you’re spending overseas, do be careful when breaking up your transaction. The S$600 excludes foreign currency transaction fees (3.25% in the case of AMEX), so you should leave some buffer (maybe 5%) to be safe.

Incidental spend such as dining and spa treatments is eligible for this offer, if charged to your room and paid at the front desk during check-out.

Statement credits should appear on your billing statement within 15 days from qualifying spend, but are usually much faster.

Conclusion

Mandarin Oriental Munich

American Express cardholders can now register to receive a S$120 credit on every S$600 spent with participating Mandarin Oriental Hotels worldwide, including Singapore, Hong Kong and New York.

There is no limit on the number of times you can enjoy this offer, which is basically up to a 20% discount (“up to”, because it will be quite difficult to hit S$600 on the dot if you’re dealing with foreign currency transactions).

The Mandarin Oriental Singapore recently completed a major renovation, and I’ve made no secret of my desire to check it out. Unfortunately, Singapore hotel rates have just gone crazy, and even S$120 off will barely put a dent into the cost of a stay!

Aaron! Would you know if this offer is valid for wedding banquet spend?
The Conrad Singapore Orchard offer specifically writes event spend is excluded but what about this?

Thank you ^^

Would anyone know if wedding spend is included in this offer?
Corad Orchard AMEX offer featured on mileslion also specifically excludes event spend ~

Tim

I asked the receptionist. They mention banquet pre-payment has to be done through a custom online payment gateway. What a bummer.

Oh what a pity, thanks for the update!
