Hilton Double Points: Earn 2X points on all stays, without cap

From 2 May to 2 September 2024, earn an uncapped 2X points on all your Hilton stays, with no minimum stay requirement.

Hilton Honors has announced the details of its next global promotion called Double Points, which is valid for all stays between 2 May and 2 September 2024.

This begins as soon as the current Points Plus promotion ends on 1 May 2024, which means there’ll be no gap between promotions- kudos to Hilton for being so consistent in running back-to-back promotions.

As the name suggests, this promotion offers 2X points on all stays, with no cap on the maximum bonus that can be earned.

Under the Points Plus promotion, registered Hilton Honors members 2X points on all stays, from the very first stay.

This is valid for stays between 2 May and 2 September 2024.

Registered members checking in before 2 May 2024 will receive credit for their stay if the stay is completed on or after 2 May 2024 and prior to or on 2 September 2024. If you start a stay in during  the promotion period and check-out after 2 September 2024, you will not receive the bonus.

Do note the following:

  • Registration is required, and must be done prior to starting your first eligible stay (it’s fine if you booked your stays prior to registration)
  • No minimum stay length is required; you’ll earn the same bonus whether you stay one night or ten nights
  • There is no cap on the maximum bonus points you can earn
  • Bonus points will also be granted to award stays, though it will only be on incidentals like dining and spa treatments
  • All bonus points will post within 6-8 weeks

The FAQs for this promotion can be found here, and T&Cs at the bottom of this page.

Is it worth it?

Hilton members usually earn 10-20 points per US$1, depending on tier. With the bonus, you’re looking at 20-30 points per US$1, depending on tier.

🏨 Hilton Points per US$1
  Regular  Bonus
(2X)
Total
Member 10 10 20
Silver 12 10 22
Gold 18 10 28
Diamond 20 10 30
*Stays at Tru and Home2 properties earn 5 base points per US$1

Remember: the bonus points for this promotion are based on the regular earn rate of 10 points per US$1, which is why it’s the same bonus regardless of tier.

1 Hilton point is worth about 0.5 US cents, so members can earn a rebate of 10-15% on spending, depending on tier.

How does this promotion compare to the current one?

For perspective, Hilton’s current Points Plus promotion offers registered Hilton Honors members:

  • 2,000 bonus points per stay, and
  • 500 bonus points per stay when you use Digital Key

Compared to this, the upcoming promotion will better reward members who pay cash for longer stays at more expensive properties.

In case this promotion doesn’t get you nearly enough points, a reminder that from now till 15 May 2024, 11.59 a.m SGT, Hilton Honors members who buy a minimum of 5,000 points will receive a 100% bonus.

Hilton points usually cost 1 US cent apiece, so a 100% bonus means buying points at 0.5 US cents each. This is the lowest price we ever see offered.

A maximum of 240,000 points (pre-bonus) can be purchased per calendar year, and points can be pooled with up to 10 other members for the purposes of redemption.

Conclusion

Hilton’s Q2 2024 promotion has been announced, and it’s offering an uncapped 2X points for stays between 2 May and 2 September 2024.

I like this much more than the current promotion which offers a flat 2,500 bonus points, and it offers a potentially lucrative rebate of up to 15% on stays. Regardless of whether you have plans to stay at the moment, you should always register just in case.
