Singapore Airlines has launched a new edition of the KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale, last seen back in October 2023. Under this sale, KrisFlyer members will enjoy 25% off Saver awards to all destinations in Economy Class, and selected destinations in Premium Economy and Business Class.
Tickets must be booked over the next two weeks, but unlike Spontaneous Escapes, which requires travel the following month, tickets booked under this sale are valid for travel from 15 January to 29 May 2025, giving you much more time to plan ahead.
To pre-empt the inevitable question: this promotion does not replace Spontaneous Escapes, and we should still expect to see a release on the 16th of this month (not the usual 15th, because that falls on a weekend).
KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale
Hereโs the key details of the KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale:
- 25% off Saver award prices
- Economy Class: All Singapore Airlines destinations
- Premium Economy Class: Selected Singapore Airlines destinations
- Business Class: Selected Singapore Airlines destinations
- Awards must be booked by 22 September 2024
- Travel must be between 15 January to 29 May 2025
These awards can only be booked on SingaporeAir.com or the SingaporeAir mobile app, and come under the promo award category. This means that just like Spontaneous Escapes, all awards will be strictly non-changeable and non-cancellable. Waitlisting is not allowed either- itโs either available or it isnโt.
With the travel period several months away, thereโs a lot more that can go wrong, so if you plan to proceed, Iโd highly advise you to purchase travel insurance that covers miles and points bookings.
25% off Economy awards
Singapore Airlines is offering 25% off Economy Saver awards on all Singapore Airlines flights, and they really mean all. It doesnโt matter whereโs your heading; so long as youโre at the back of the plane, a 25% discount is yours.
Do note that there are blackout dates however, and flight restrictions for certain destinations.
25% off Premium Economy awards
Itโs a much smaller selection for Premium Economy, with discounts only applicable for Istanbul, San Francisco, New York (JFK) and New York (Newark).
I generally donโt advise redeeming miles for Premium Economy Class, since the price gap between Business Class is relatively small compared to the comfort gap, but again this could make sense for some people.
Business Class
The previous KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale excluded Business Class, so itโs great to see it included this time round.
For Business Class, discounts are applicable for travel to the selected South East Asia, North Asia and West Asia destinations. Hong Kong and Seoul will probably be the most attractive for most Singaporeans, but donโt rule out the Maldives either.
Conclusion
Singapore Airlines has launched the latest edition of its KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale, with 25% off Economy Class awards to anywhere in the world, as well as selected destinations for Premium Economy and Business Class.
The big advantage here over Spontaneous Escapes is that you can book travel as far ahead as May 2025, as opposed to the usual โtravel next monthโ restriction that Spontaneous Escapes has. However, with awards being non-changeable and non-refundable, you need to be sure of your travel plans before pulling the trigger.
While itโs unfortunate that Europe, Japan and the USA are missing from the Business Class list, thereโs still good deals to be found here!
booked mine, thanks for sharing!
