The Citi PremierMiles Card now offers 2.2 mpd on FCY spend and an enhanced welcome offer of up to 30,000 Citi Miles + a S$100 Trip.com Gift Card. Plus, win 10x prizes of 500,000 Citi Miles each!

The Citi PremierMiles Card is one of the most versatile general spending cards on the market, thanks to its 11 airline and hotel partners, non-expiring points, complimentary travel insurance and two Priority Pass lounge visits each year.

Now, Citi is enhancing the card further with the launch of some new features and promotions starting today, including an upsized earn rate of 2.2 Citi Miles per S$1 on foreign currency retail spend, an enhanced welcome offer of up to 30,000 bonus Citi Miles and a S$100 Trip.com Gift Card, and a lucky draw where 10 cardholders will win for themselves 500,000 Citi Miles each.

Earn 2.2 mpd on foreign currency spend

Local Currency Spend Foreign Currency Spend
Earn Rate 1.2 Citi Miles per S$1 2.0 2.2 Citi Miles per S$1

From 12 September 2024 onwards, Citi PremierMiles Cardholders will earn 2.2 Citi Miles per S$1 on foreign currency retail spend, a 10% increase from the previous rate of 2 Citi Miles per S$1.

This is a permanent change to the core value proposition, and as before, there’s no minimum spend necessary to trigger this rate, nor cap on the maximum miles that can be earned.

Don’t forget that Citi awards points based on every S$1 spent, unlike some other cards which use S$5 earning blocks. For example, if you were to spend S$14.99, Citi PremierMiles Cardholders would earn points based on S$14 of spending, while a card with S$5 earning blocks would only earn points based on S$10 of spending. This makes it a better candidate for smaller-sized transactions, as you lose fewer points due to rounding.

Enhanced welcome offer: Up to 30,000 bonus Citi Miles + S$100 Trip.com Gift Card

Apply

The Citi PremierMiles Card’s regular welcome offer of up to 30,000 bonus Citi Miles is now being enhanced with the addition of a S$100 Trip.com Gift Card.

Here’s how it works:

  • Submit an application for a Citi PremierMiles Card from 12 September to 31 October 2024 (with approval within 30 days from application date)
  • Pay the first year’s S$196.20 annual fee
  • Spend at least S$800 in qualifying spend by the end of the second month following approval. For example, if you’re approved on 20 September 2024, you will need to make S$800 qualifying spend by 30 November 2024

This offer is valid for customers who are new to Citi cards, defined as those who do not currently hold a principal Citi credit card, and have not cancelled a principal Citi credit card in the past 12 months.

10,000 bonus Citi Miles will be credited once the annual fee has been paid, while 20,000 bonus Citi Miles will be credited within three months after the qualifying spend has been met. The Trip.com Gift Cards will be awarded according to the following timeline:

  • Approved in September 2024: By 31 March 2025
  • Approved in October 2024: By 30 April 2025

Trip.com Gift Cards can be used to book flights, hotels, attraction tickets and more. Amounts can be utilised over multiple bookings if desired.

Lucky draw: Win 500,000 Citi Miles

Citi PremierMiles Cardholders, both new and existing, have the opportunity to win 500,000 Citi Miles simply by spending on their cards from 12 September to 31 December 2024.

Here’s how they can earn chances:

  • Every S$100 spent in Singapore Dollars during this period earns 1 chance
  • Every S$100 spent in foreign currency during this period earns 2 chances
  • New-to- Citi card customers who open a Citi PremierMiles Card during this period will earn 10 chances, on top of the chances from Singapore Dollar or foreign currency spending

A total of 10 winners will take home 500,000 Citi Miles each, which can be transferred to any of the following airline and hotel partners at a 1:1 ratio:

  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
  • Air France-KLM Flying Blue
  • British Airways Executive Club
  • Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
  • Etihad Guest
  • EVA Air Infinity MileageLands
  • IHG One Rewards
  • Qantas Frequent Flyer
  • Qatar Airways Privilege Club
  • THAI Royal Orchid Plus
  • Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles

This covers all three major airline alliances, so you’ll have no shortage of options come vacation time. For example, you could use Qatar Airways Privilege Club to redeem one-way Business Class flights to Europe from 70,000 miles, or one-way Business Class flights to the USA from 95,000 miles.

Alternatively, Air France-KLM Flying Blue offers one-way Business Class flights to Bali for 20,000 miles, or one-way Business Class flights to Europe from 70,000 miles (on a recent trip I snagged Singapore to Madrid on Etihad for 90,500 miles each way, which let me try their Business Studio seats).

Since Citi Miles never expire, you can take your time to decide where you want to go- but don’t wait too long!

The lucky draw will take place on 13 February 2025, and Citi Miles credited to winners by 28 February 2025.
