Rare uncapped deal: Get S$80 eCapitaVouchers with a new UOB card

UOB cards may be great for day-to-day spend, but they’re not so great in the welcome offers department. Even if you’re lucky enough to come across an uncapped welcome offer, there’s usually no SingSaver gift to stack. 

But that’s changing for the rest of the month, as SingSaver launches a new UOB acquisition promotion that offers an extra S$80 eCapitaVouchers or S$80 Shopee vouchers for new-to-bank customers, on top of whatever welcome offer UOB is running.

SingSaver x UOB promotion

New-to-bank customers who apply for selected UOB credit cards from 8-31 October 2024 will receive a choice of either:

• S$80 eCapitaVouchers
• S$80 Shopee vouchers

Perhaps the bigger challenge is finding someone who still counts as new-to-bank, because any miles chaser worth their salt would already have a UOB Lady’s Card, UOB Preferred Platinum Visa or UOB Visa Signature (or all three!).

For avoidance of doubt, SingSaver gifts stack with UOB’s regular welcome offers.

For example, if you apply for a KrisFlyer UOB Credit Card via SingSaver, you’d be eligible for the S$80 vouchers and 25,000 bonus miles. Do note, however, that the minimum spend required for UOB’s offers may be different from SingSaver, and that the UOB offers may also be capped (e.g. the KrisFlyer UOB Credit Card’s offer is only valid for the first 100 customers- go figure).

You’re free to try for those if you wish, but the real headline here is the uncapped SingSaver gift because we don’t see that very often.

2. Take note of the application reference number 
3. Complete the SingSaver Rewards Redemption Form that is sent to your email, within the first 14 days of application. Ensure that the name, mobile number and email address submitted to SingSaver are the same as that used in the credit card application

Qualifying spend

Applicants must spend at least S$500 in the fist month of approval to be eligible for the SingSaver gifts. 

A list of excluded spend can be found in the UOB T&Cs, and includes the insurance premiums, education, government agencies, charitable donations and utilities.

Conclusion

From now till 31 October 2024, new-to-bank customers are guaranteed at least S$80 worth of eCapitaVouchers or Shopee vouchers when they get a UOB credit card and spend at least S$500 in the first month of approval. This is on top of whatever welcome offers UOB is running, though do note the vast majority of those are the “first X” type and not guaranteed.
