New OCBC Tokens feature: Earn vouchers for daily check-ins and other simple tasks

OCBC Tokens offer users vouchers for completing simple tasks on the OCBC app, with special reward drops every Wednesday.

OCBC has quietly launched a new feature called OCBC Tokens, which it calls “a fun way to get more”.

OCBC Tokens can be earned from completing daily check-ins, foreign currency conversions and other tasks, and will become the bank’s fourth rewards currency after OCBC$, 90°N Miles and VOYAGE Miles. However, unlike the trio, OCBC Tokens can only be exchanged for vouchers, and not airline miles or hotel points.

That said, it basically amounts to a free reward in some cases, and OCBC is planning to do weekly drops where users can get outsized value for their Tokens.

Overview: OCBC Tokens

Details

Earning OCBC Tokens

OCBC Tokens can be earned by any customer who has access to OCBC Mobile Banking Services (this could either be through a bank account or credit card).

At the moment, earning opportunities are rather limited, presumably because the programme is in soft-launch mode.

Action Reward
Enrol for OCBC Tokens 20 OCBC Tokens
Daily check-in 10 OCBC Tokens per day
Exchange SGD to FCY 120 OCBC Tokens per S$100 converted

To earn OCBC Tokens, you must first enrol in the programme, which can be done by tapping the OCBC Tokens icon at the top of the home page. Follow the instructions, and you’ll receive an instant joining bonus of 20 OCBC Tokens.

After enrolling, you can check-in every day (including the day of enrolment) for a further 10 OCBC Tokens. Only you can decide whether it’s worth sacrificing a few seconds of daily life to complete this, but given how many people freak out whenever the Kris+ daily check-in feature goes down…

Apart from that, OCBC is offering 120 OCBC Tokens for every S$100 converted into FCY by 31 August 2026, via an OCBC Global Savings Account.

That’s all I see on my app for now, but I did spot some additional earning opportunities in the animated GIF on OCBC’s landing page (though these may just be dummy figures):

  • Enable push notifications: 300 OCBC Tokens
  • Convert to e-statement: 800 OCBC Tokens
  • Pay local merchant using ‘Scan & Pay’: 20 OCBC Tokens
  • Scan & withdraw at OCBC ATM: 100 OCBC Tokens
  • Activate OCBC OneToken: 400 OCBC Tokens

If you see any other interesting earning opportunities on your app, do flag them!

Redeeming OCBC Tokens

OCBC Tokens can be exchanged for vouchers on the OCBC app. There are currently 41 voucher options to choose from, and all offer a fixed value of 0.2 cents per OCBC Token.

Now, given that the minimum redemption option costs 1,000 OCBC Tokens (S$2), it’s going to take a long time before your daily check-ins get you any kind of decent reward.

However, OCBC will be doing a series of reward drops every Wednesday with prices “from” 30 OCBC Tokens.

Date & Time Reward
Wednesday, 26 August 2026, 11 a.m 26″ Wenger Luggage + S$2 7-Eleven voucher
Wednesday, 2 September 2026, 11 a.m DeLonghi (TBC)
Wednesday, 9 September 2026, 11 a.m Samsonite (TBC)

I expect there’ll be a mad rush for these, so you’ll want to camp on the OCBC app starting from Wednesday late morning.

Validity

OCBC Tokens are valid for 12 months from the date they’re earned.

Terms & Conditions

The T&Cs governing OCBC Tokens can be found here.

OCBC’s other rewards currencies

OK, what is it with OCBC and multiple rewards currencies?

OCBC Tokens will be the fourth rewards currency that OCBC offers, after OCBC$, 90°N Miles and VOYAGE Miles. While these three currencies share the same transfer partners, they have different rules when it comes to expiry and minimum transfer blocks.

OCBC$ 90°N Miles VOYAGE Miles OCBC Tokens
Pooling Yes Yes N/A N/A
Expiry 2 years No expiry 1 year
Transfer Partners 9 airlines and hotels Vouchers only
Transfer Fees S$25 N/A
Min. Transfer
(KrisFlyer)
10,000 miles 1,000 miles 1 mile 1,000 OCBC Tokens
(S$2)

Min. Transfer
(Others)
2,000 – 4,000 miles 500 – 1,000 miles

While it’s possible to convert OCBC$, 90°N Miles and VOYAGE Miles among each other, none of these can be transferred to or from OCBC Tokens.

OCBC Tokens are basically an isolated currency, and cannot be converted to airline miles or hotel points.

Conclusion

OCBC Tokens are OCBC’s latest rewards currency, and can be earned from completing daily check-ins or other tasks.

Tokens can be converted into vouchers at a fixed value of 0.2 cents per OCBC Token, though the weekly reward drops look like a better opportunity to get outsized value. That said, given how popular these are likely to be, you’ll need to be on standby at 11 a.m on Wednesday ready to hit redeem — and hope your internet connection is faster than everyone else’s.

OCBC app invites me to “Scan & Pay” at local merchants to earn 20 OCBC Tokens for a payment of at least S$5 made. Available once a day. First 10,000 payments made by enrolled participants each day qualify. But is this worth it, as compared to earning credit card rewards at local merchants? Or should only use “Scan & Pay” at merchants that do not accept credit cards and ShopBack Pay.
