World of Hyatt has launched a new points sale, which offers a 20% discount on points purchases from now until 22 December 2026.
A 20% discount reduces the cost to 2.08 US cents per point, though it’s worth remembering that in 2025, Hyatt increased the base price of a point from 2.4 to 2.6 US cents each (so if you’ve pegged your mental math to the old price, you’ll need to rebase it accordingly).
As far as offers go, this isn’t the most generous we’ve seen. If you really need points now, then some discount is better than nothing, but otherwise I’d recommend waiting till a better offer comes along.

| 20% discount on World of Hyatt points |
From now till 22 December 2026, 11.59 a.m SGT, World of Hyatt members will receive a 20% discount when purchasing points.
- A minimum purchase of 3,000 points is required
- Members can usually purchase up to 55,000 points per calendar year, but for this sale, the limit has been doubled to 110,000 points
- Points will usually be credited within 48 hours. If this is your first time purchasing points, it may take slightly longer
- Purchasing points will extend the validity of your entire balance by a further 24 months
If you still need more points, World of Hyatt recently added the ability to transfer points online between members. Each account can send up to 525,000 points, and receive up to 525,000 points per calendar year, provided both the sender’s and receiver’s accounts have been open for at least 60 days (in any case, your account must be at least 60 days old to buy World of Hyatt points).
A 20% discount matches the previous offer we saw from August to October, and is the lowest price that World of Hyatt sells points these days.
| Offer | Validity | Cost Per Point |
| 20% discount | 6 August to 5 October 2026 | 2.08 US¢ |
| 20% bonus | 14 May to 27 July 2026 | 2.17 US¢ |
| 20% discount | 17 February to 7 April 2026 | 2.08 US¢ |
| 20% discount | 20 October to 20 December 2025 | 2.08 US¢ |
What can you redeem World of Hyatt Points for?

World of Hyatt introduced some major changes to its award charts in May 2026, which saw the previous three-tiered pricing structure expanded into five tiers.

What’s especially noteworthy is that the revised Moderate tier is, in most cases, more expensive than the previous Peak pricing, meaning that in an “average” scenario, members will be paying more.
| Category | Peak Price (Current Chart) |
Moderate Price (Revised Chart) |
| 1 | 6,500 | 6,000 -8% |
| 2 | 9,500 | 10,000 +5% |
| 3 | 15,000 | 15,000 Unchanged |
| 4 | 18,000 | 20,000 +11% |
| 5 | 23,000 | 25,000 +9% |
| 6 | 29,000 | 30,000 +3% |
| 7 | 35,000 | 35,000 Unchanged |
| 8 | 45,000 | 55,000 +22% |
Now, if it’s any consolation, most of the damage seems to be at the upper end of the spectrum. If your goal was to book those ultra-luxurious Category 7 or 8 properties, you’ll now be paying up to 67% more — ouch.
However, based on what I’m seeing, the price increases have been much more modest for the low- and mid-range categories. I even saved some points on my Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and Grand Hyatt Hong Kong reservations by rebooking them after the award chart changes came into effect. Basically, it’s win some, lose some.

A great place to start looking for Hyatt (or other hotel programmes, for that matter) award nights is MaxMyPoint, which shows you which properties allow you to get the most bang for your buck. If you’re buying points with the current sale, you’ll want to ensure you get more than 2.08 US cents per point to come out on top.

When do World of Hyatt points expire?
World of Hyatt points expire after 24 consecutive months of inactivity.
Earning or redeeming a single point will extend the lifespan of your entire account by a further 24 months.
What cards should I use to buy World of Hyatt points?

| 20% discount on World of Hyatt points |
World of Hyatt has launched a 20% discount on points purchases for the next couple of months, though the cost per point is definitely on the higher side.
I wouldn’t be a buyer at this price, but if you need a small top-up of your account, then perhaps it might make more sense. As a general rule, you should never buy points speculatively. Only buy if you have a definite plan in mind, and burn them as soon as you can!
