We’re running additional Miles for Beginners workshops with SMU!

Additional sessions now available, with a discount for SMU alumni and graduating students.

I’ve recently started a new series of talks called “Miles for Beginners”, an introductory course created to give newcomers to the miles and points game a firm foundation in the basics. We just completed one session today and it was really amazing- great crowd, smart questions and no casualties. What more could you want?

I’m pleased to announce that because of strong demand for this course we’ll be launching additional sessions of these talks in conjunction with SMUpreneurs (the entrepreneurs alumni group) and SMU’s Office of Alumni Relations.

  • Learning the fundamentals of miles-earning credit cards
  • Cutting through the clutter by learning and weighing the key decision criteria for choosing a miles card
  • Learning how to derive your personal valuation of miles
  • Crafting an accelerated miles-earning strategy that works for you
  • Discovering some lesser-known ways of accumulating miles even without credit cards

Session 2- Burning miles: How to make your miles go further

Date/time: Saturday, 28 July 2018, 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Venue: Function Room 6.1, Administration Building, SMU

In this session, we’ll cover:

  • Learning the fundamentals of frequent flyer programs and airline alliances
  • Deciding which frequent flyer program makes sense for you
  • Discovering the benefits of elite membership and how to earn it faster

  • Learning how to improve your flying experience by redeeming your miles for the right cabin products
  • Learning about non-flight redemption options for your miles
  • Understanding how to improve your chances of getting award seats

In the near future I’m looking to create a session on hotels as well, so we’ll have covered the three main bases of credit cards, airline and hotel loyalty programs.

Hope to see you all there!
