IHG will be running its “Double Points Plus More” promotion from 16 September 2018 and 16 December 2018 where IHG Rewards Club members will earn double points on all stays from their second stay onward. Registration is required for this promotion before making your stays.
Earn double points on all stays, capped at 15,000 bonus points
As part of their Double Points Plus more promotion, IHG Rewards Club members are able to earn double points from their second stay onward at all IHG properties. The amount of bonus points you can earn in this promotion is up to 15,000 bonus points.
This offer is available for all IHG Rewards Club members who register for this promotion.
Check your targeted offers
There will be other offers which will be revealed to you once you have registered for this new promotion. These offers are very similar to those which have appeared in IHG’s Accelerate promotions in the past and these are account specific.
Here’s what I got targeted for:
Mark from The Shutterwhale got targeted with a much better offer with his IHG Rewards Club account and you should definitely log into your IHG Rewards Club account to see what offer you have received.
Personally, I won’t be taking advantage of the offers which I have received as the bonus points which are being offered are just too little.
Concluding Thoughts
Even if you currently don’t have any stays planned with IHG, make sure you register for this promotion to check your account specific offers. Who knows, an impromptu staycation at an IHG property might happen if your offer is lucrative enough.
As noted by many other bloggers, the loss of a full-fledged Accelerate promotion is sad, especially so for IHG loyalists.
My targeted offfer is to earn 4000 points for staying more than 4 consecutive nights.
Useless offer.
Hilton’s 3x points for resorts much better.
Accelerate would just get harder and harder to achieve to the point where I ignored it and just did my usual stays. Possibly the reason for the change? They always tried to make you strive for more but if it’s outside your normal patterns then you don’t bother and just chase whatever other promo is on at the next brand.
